Rules:
1) You can only choose players who have played at such positions/roles at least 25% of their careers. (e.g. no Jordan at PG).
2) Players who have started 75% of their careers can not be part of the bench (e.g. Shaq can't come off the bench).
PG: Jason Kidd | Lou Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant | Josh Hart
SF: Kawhi Leonard | Manu Ginobili
PF: Kevin Durant | Andre Iguodala
C: Tim Duncan | Montrezl Harrell
Can you construct a better 10 man team than mine?

KD has not played 50% of his career at PF :lol
So you can pick any PG ever, and you take Kidd?
You kid, right?
Andddd, Mourning has not started most of his career? What are you doing bro?!

Alonzo Mourning started 686 games, came off the bench for 152. Not sure how he isn't one that one that started most of his career. Same with Iguodala, who started 779 and came off for 329 games.
Anyways:
PG: Fat Lever | Lou Williams
SG: Michael Jordan | Vinnie Johnson
SF: Kawhi Leonard | Detlef Schrempf
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo | Toni Kukoc
CE: Arvydas Sabonis | Montrezl Harrell
The passing in that starting unit

KD pretty much played PF in that vaunted GS death lineup. I would consider his warriors stint at least half of his career.

Nope. Kidd was probably the greatest high IQ point guard. Had the all around game. Could defend 1-3. Could shoot a respective 3pt %. Always averaged high assists numbers. Most importantly he knew how to command an offense and get the ball to his scorers. And that's important on a team that features four other go-to guys.

Which part?
Curry
Klay
Iggy
Durant
Green
Durant is the PF. They've played a ton of games in the playoffs. He's already won two finals MVPs at that position and going for a possible third this season. Let's not pretend he didn't play PF for a chunk of his career.

Before Golden State he really didn't. Ibaka was the starting PF while he was in OKC. So nah, you can't just consider 3 out of 12 years half a players career :lol

Fair enough. OP updated to be at least a fourth of their careers :lol

I think the starting lineup will have great chemistry. All those guys don't really get stirred by anyone (okay except KD)

You mean the position they played or the role they played on the court? Two different things.

What has "stirring up KD" actually done for a defender in the long run?

PG: Curry |Michael Cooper
SG: Klay | Tony Allen
SF: LeBron | Korver
PF: KD | Horry
C: Duncan | Frye
I ideally would have had Kawhi at the 2 but he only played shooting guard his rookie season

Curry's defense would get exposed by Kobe/Kawhi/KD on switch pick n rolls. Kidd would bully him in the post.
Kobe >>> Klay
Kawhi shuts down LeBron like he routinely has done in the NBA finals.
My bench >>>> your bench. I have four playmakers coming off my bench compared to your one.

Well, with those rule changes:
PG: Gary Payton | Sam Cassell
SG: Michael Jordan | Lou Williams
SF: Kawhi Leonard | Detlef Schrempf
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo | Toni Kukoc
CE: Arvydas Sabonis | Montrezl Harrell
Just two small changes, putting in more defense in the starting unit and more shooting/clutch play in the second unit.
Would definitely stagger Payton and Giannis with the second unit, while Cassell (or Lou) and Kukoc get more burn with Jordan/Kawhi/Sabonis.

Who cares my team will score 150 points anyway
You'll have to settle for Kobe mid range 2s
Whilst i'll have Curry and Klay raining 3s all game
Imagine how much damage a LeBron and Curry pick and roll is going to do

Klay would lock down Chuckbe. I'd rather have Klay at SG than Kobe if I already have superstars like LeBron, KD, and Duncan. Kobe was a great perimeter player but LeBron, Curry, and KD got that covered along with the shooting of Klay and Curry. Manny98's list is great.
Actually, KD, LeBron and Klay could all shut down Kobe. To be honest, Kobe shut himself down at times bc chucking isn't exactly the best formula to win. :oldlol:

Lol at KD, LeBron or Klay shutting down Kobe. No person on that team can shut down prime Kobe. Dude routinely torched KD and the Thunder in playoffs. Same against Klay before the Achilles injury. Kobe sonned LeBron when he tried to guard him one on one. That rainbow fadeaway dagger to close the game in Cleveland still haunts LeBron.
I wonder if you're really a Suns fan. You must've missed when Kobe used to torch Raja Bell, Shawn Marion, Grant Hill and Dudley for 60points on a weekly basis. And those guys were considered elite defenders in the physical defensive era. There's no stopping Kobe one on one. You, as a Suns fan, should know that first hand.

first hand, i know that Kobe lost a 3-1 lead in the playoffs against the Suns without Amar'e. Nash absolutely destroyed Kobe in that series.

Tony Allen is on your bench. How he gonna contain Kobe if he doesn't even get the majority of minutes at SG?

Stockton
MJ
Bird
Barkley
Duncan
Stockton is the perfect point guard to MJ, strong 3 point shooting, no drama, good defender. Bird for obvious reasons. Barkley is also positionless and could be convinced to mostly rebound and do putbacks. Duncan the same, could play a mostly defensive role as well.
I see something like:
Stockton: 10ppg 10apg
MJ: 25ppg
Bird: 20ppg
Barkley 20ppg 15rpg
Duncan 15ppg 10rpg

Anyone who thinks Curry is a liability needs to get their heads checked. A player with undefined range is a threat on any team, especially if you can choose the team around him to hide his liabilities.
I'm not a strong defensive player, but I am a gunner and I can pullup from very deep. Some teams play box 1 and shadow me. That's how dangerous an elite shooter is. Not to mention he has elite handles. This is a TEAM game still, and Curry is definitely a threat to be on any team
