It's insane. If he sustains this it is the GOAT playoff run hands down.

Game 1 - 45 points, 70% shooting
Game 2 - 35 points, 54% shooting
Game 3 - 33 points, 59% shooting
Game 4 - 39 points, 65% shooting

It would be awesome if he can be like 2011 Dirk and get us a ring in Toronto.

Siakam is quite similar but yeah...

MJ's best series was 45 on 60%

And another series with 45 on 56%

And another series with 43 on 55%

And 33.5/6/6 on 49% for his career - most playoff runs easily topped kawhi's current 32/7/3

MJ was also at 35/7/7 on 50% for the 85-93' playoffs

The reality is that Kawhi isn't shooting enough - shooting 60% in a tight series means you can shoot a lot more and your team needs you to.. MJ would win this series in 5 by shooting and dominating more

Btw, Kawhi benefits from a wide open game designed by the NBA for perimeter players to thrive. MJ would average 50

Siakam > 88-90' Pippen easily

Plus 5-time all-star Lowry (all-nba in 16' and 46% HOF probability)

Plus a bunch of other guys that were better than what mj had, like 3x all-defense and 2x block champ ibaka, gasol, among others

MJ would easily win the ring with this squad, and be FAVORED to do so - they'd flirt with 70 wins in RS

Let me know when Kawhi can jog up to the FT line and double-pump

Not at all - I like kawhi a lot and hope he wins it all this year.. I respect his game and skills

Even if he only gets by this philly team but loses to Giannis - that would prove MJ would win the ring this year

Because MJ is a lot better than Kawhi and never played with teammates as good as these raptors - they have pippen, I mean Siakam, plus a perennial all-star PG, plus better role players than MJ ever had

These are facts

So MJ would win easily and be FAVORED to do so - they'd flirt with 70 wins in RS for sure.. kawhi's a good leader, but MJ was in another dimension.. he'd play all 82, that's for sure

So far, up there with second 3-peat Jordan.

I wouldnt put him in that 1991-93 tier though. Not yet at least. That Jordan was a better playmaker and scorer than Kawhi, handily.

DeRozan doesn't compare to Clyde, let alone MJ.. :whatever:

Regular Season

DREXLER:.. 20.4.. 6.1.. 5.6.. 54.7 ts.. 114 ortg.. 21.1 PER.. 0.175 ws/48... 6.0 bpm.. 75.6 vorp
DEROZAN:. 19.9.. 4.3.. 3.4.. 53.6 ts.. 109 ortg.. 17.9 PER.. 0.113 ws/48.. -0.5 bpm.. 10.0 vorp

Playoffs

DREXLER:.. 20.4.. 6.9.. 6.1.. 53.2 ts.. 113 ortg.. 19.7 PER.. 0.134 ws/48... 5.9 bpm.. 11.0 vorp
DEROZAN:. 21.9.. 4.6.. 3.6.. 50.3 ts.. 103 ortg.. 16.7 PER.. 0.052 ws/48.. -1.8 bpm.. 0.1 vorp

See, now ur getting crushed itt - get your head out of your ass and stop being delusional

Btw, MJ's comp was otherworldly - Drexler destroys DeRozan...
I said IN. THIS. ERA.

It’s much tougher nowadays, grocery baggers don’t make the league anymore. Drexler today would be Patrick McCaw.

Kawhi is dropping 38 per game now, but won FMVP with 17 in 2014 (24 when he got cooking in games 3-5)

That's an indication of the change in era and how much easier it is to score now

And that was just 5 years ago, let alone the clogged paints of the 90's

Just based on eye test, I think 96-98' MJ was much better than Kawhi and would have better numbers than him.. MJ was far quicker with much quicker reflexes, and his mid-range jumper and repertoire was a couple levels up from Kawhi.. just an entirely better player - similar footwork sometimes, but far more graceful, skilled, quick and better instincts..

Earlier today I was watching the 95' ecsf that MJ lost, and Shaq was just standing in the paint for entire possessions along with other players - the paint was largely sealed and it took a great move to get in there, otherwise it was all jumpers - and super tough contested jumpers that Kawhi doesn't have to take

Just night and day different defenses.. a different sport basically.. it would really be something to see MJ in today's game with all that space.. 50 point games would occur with considerable regularity

LMAO god damnit that killed me.

As for OP, this should come as no surprise. He was nearly as dominant in his last playoff run before he got injured against GS...

28/8/5 on 53/46/93 splits  Was well on his way to dropping 40 in GS en route to a blowout win before he went down too.

This was inevitable, especially against the East.

Why can't we just appreciate a great run without bringing up Jordan? I am old enough to remember Jordan in college and loved his game, but frankly I get tired of his name being constantly brought up.

Kawhi has been awesome. Funny thing is that he is making it look easy. He never looks hurried, almost like he is playing in slow motion, and is able to score routinely. Along with Durant he is showing the value of an advanced midrange game in the playoffs.

That stepback 3 at the end of the game, while being double teamed by Embid/Simmons, was the definition of clutch. :applause:

Most of what you say is true.

I'd still say Kawhi in on that 96-98 tier though. He impacts the game on both ends @ an elite, superstar level.

Not that he's better than that Jordan. More like a HEIR on the waiting list. To be fair, I don't even like the MJ comparison. Kawhi plays more like Pippen but with better offensive skills. If anything he moves like Wizards MJ :oldlol:

Efficency in a defensive weak era like today isn't that hard.

What was Kawhi's efficiency numbers during the Finals series he won FMVP while making LBJ his bitch again?

I will say that Kawhi has improved a lot on his midrange shooting, you just can't give him open looks and dare him to shoot like teams do to LeBron...
