I've had hemorrhoids for the last 8 years or so, but in the past with a little treatment they would go away within a day or 2. This past October they came with a vengeance, no matter how much cream I put or fiber I ate they wouldn't go away. I was in absolute pain for 2 months, I'm talking blood in stool everytime I pooped. Finally decided to buy some laxatives to soften the stool and they went away, the problem is after I stop taking laxatives they come back within a week or so. My anus is so weak that with a slightly hard stool, my hemorrhoids come back. I went to the doctor, he didn't do much, just gave me some stool softeners, but laxatives seem to help the most, but I don't want to depend on them because those can be bad for your colon in the long run.

Any suggestions?

But on a serious note... eat a shit ton of fiber.

Eating a ton of fiber is probably the most healthy thing you can do from a dietary standpoint.

I'm sure you have a shit diet.

Man that's why I say I could never be gay, I wipe too hard and my ass bleeding :oldlol:

For me it only happens when wiping with dry toilet paper over and over....gotta wipe it dry first, wet 2nd, and then dry that bitch up and im good to go.

Although its never a lot of blood at all, literally dots on the toilet paper. I'd definitely get that checked out bro, doctor opinion > insidehoops opinion. Go to a walk in clinic if money is the problem, they doctors too mane.

Just add fiber to your diet, a bar here, a bar there, and it'll help.

At least you don't have a cyst on your butthole....happened to one of my buddies ages ago. We still haven't let him live it down

Bruh, if this is a serious post you need to modify your diet. You said you tried fiber, but did you make sure to increase your water intake with it? Are you eating lots of dairy (particularly cheese) or protein? You need more water and increased exercise can help make you more regular.

If you're heavy, weight loss can reduce abdominal pressure reducing the cause of hemorrhoids.

Fiber=leafy greens, broccoli, cauliflower, bran, oatmeal, 100% wheat, all fibrous fruits like citrus, apples and bananas, grapes not so much. Okra is a great natural laxative as are prunes.

Stay away from heavy meat intake, cheese, protein shakes, and junk food until you heal.

Those are external hemorrhoids, by the way. External are extremely painful. Internal are painless, but bleed like crazy because there are no pain receptors where an internal hemorrhoid lies. Only remedy for internals are surgery or time which causes the vein to just slough off and die. Sounds worse than it is.

I exercise everyday, I'm an avid runner and only weigh 155 pounds.

And no, they are not external hemorrhoids, they are internal. My doctor confirmed with me, I even told him that I thought internal hemorrhoids were painless and he just laughed and said that was a myth, he even advised against surgery. I get plenty of fiber, but I'll admit that I do eat junk I shouldn't be eating from time to time, running 5 miles a day will make you want to eat a horse cause you are so damn hungry after a workout.

I'm not worried about it healing, it will heal with the laxative pills, just worried how they keep coming back if I stop taking those pills. When I stop taking laxatives, I take stool softeners, they work for a while but eventually I get flareups even with the softeners. Thinking of taking the softeners with added Metamucil with water once it's healed again.

Alright, well, assuming he discovered that by examination and he's positive they're internal like I said, surgery will knock it out if it really starts to cramp your lifestyle. I don't blame him for advising against surgery since any surgery is always a risk, but that's easy for someone to say that isn't in constant misery. It's a relatively minor surgery. Other alternative is just to wait it out and hope the vein eventually dies off, but you mentioned a pretty long history of this.

Problem with internals is they don't heal in the sense that the vein can not reverse course and go back to where it's supposed to be. It can only heal itself as far as stopping the bleeding. Since the vein remains there it will bleed every time a rough bowel movement occurs. The major damage therefore, was done years ago.

Concerning your diet. Occasional junk won't hurt a completely healthy person obviously, but since you've got a defect in there a single bad meal could unfortunately open up the wound all over again.

Also, since you mentioned you're an avid runner, are you staying properly hydrated? Added fiber without water is a recipe for disaster.

What kind of laxative are you taking? In reading up on this just now, I read that some can aggravate hemorrhoids which I was unaware of. They recommended bulk forming laxatives like Fiberall or Metamucil solely.

Also, weird question as these always are, but how long does it typically take you to have a bowel movement? Anything over 5 minutes becomes abnormal and increases risk of creating more hemorrhoids. If you're bowel movements take longer your diet needs to be addressed and changed for the better.

I drink tons of water, so I'd like to think I'm properly hydrated. I take stimulant laxatives, so it's pretty much water when I poop. That helps me because it's the bulky hard stools that aggravate my hemorrhoids. I can take a somewhat bulky stool as long as it's soft. I know stimulant laxatives dehydrate you, so I drink extra water when I take them. Im also aware that you can't stay in the toilet for too long if you have hemorrhoids so Im pretty much in and out.

Man, stimulant laxatives are a really bad idea for a multitude of reasons. Firstly, they work by decreasing your bodies ability to absorb water, so you're most likely dehydrated without even realizing it. Do that long term and you're going to **** your kidneys and crank up your blood pressure. I would switch to a natural source like prunes or okra asap. If you feel you have to buy stuff, stick with the stool softener and metamucil/water regimen.

Yea, I know how bad they are. Which is why I get off them once the bleeding stops. My plan it to stick with the stool softners plus metamucil/water once my ass heals again.

Check your diet.

Anyway, I hear you on the ass problems dude. I had a fistula and it took forever to heal. Anything down in that area just doesn't want to heal quickly.

every guy is different,,, I have to eat alot of bread otherwise my shit is like water...
Watch your diet ...
I used to get them when I duck hunted hard, , sitting in water is not good as well as wet cloths.
obviously mine were external.
Baby powder and creme helps , but I would also check to see if you have ulcers .. get a checkup .

I want to laugh at you but I've been there.

Add more spinach to your diet I mean a heaping bowl every single day and that'll make your dumps go smoother. And cut your fingernails before you wash your ass because the last thing you want to do is scratch anything.
