ok?

what exactly does this prove? that he can write off things when he's not turning a profit

see it would have made sense if he was massively successful making hundreds of millions and not paying taxes

but you literally said all his shit went under and he was broke... soooo

It's all character assassination at this point. Spread enough lies and assassinate his character enough, and hope the low-IQ voter is swayed to vote against him.

It's not even news. We've all known that Trump uses bankruptcy laws in his favor. The Dems were hoping to catch some type of tax fraud and they lost yet again.

Who cares?

Anyone who has paid attention to Trump knows that the narrative of him being some kind of business genius is false. He is nowhere near the businessman that a Jeff Bezos is, for example. Now that dude started from nowhere and made all of his money himself, and not from having a rich daddy.

Here’s the problem. The New York Times hasn’t actually seen his taxes. They say that an anonymous source who is “familiar with his taxes” told them this.

It’s possible that he genuinely lost that much money, but here’s the more likely scenario. There are a million special loopholes and write offs for real estate, especially back then. Including things like the money you spend acquiring properties. As everyone knows, Donald Trump went on a legendary spending spree during those years and racked up billions of debt. I think he even bought 50% of the Empire State Building.

I don’t doubt that he genuinely lost some money, but I’d guess most of that $1.17B is write offs, sketchy depreciation claims and business costs like renovations. Remember, this is the same period of time where we know he claimed about $900M of tax write offs for losses and depreciation of assets.

there isn't a single billionaire venture capitalist on earth that hasn't lost hundreds of millions of dollars

it comes with the territory... wins and losses are a part of everything. otherwise someone like trump would own the planet by now

jeff bezo's came pretty close. but even he took a huge loss with marriage... zuckerberg took a huge loss with the information leak... steve jobs took a huge loss with cancer

shit happens. the thing about trump is he never takes full risk and throws it all down on red or black. he always has a bail out plan because hes a smart person. thats why the rich get richer and we stay the same. they're just better than us. deal with it

oh the horror

There's 618 days left in his presidency. Cant people wait a little to vote him out office? Then get a Democrat majority house and president so they can destroy the economy before electing a Republican house again and another Republican president a few years afterwards. Wash and repeat.

Oh dear.. Republicans drive up deficits each time they get into White House and Democrats bring it down each time, going back decades.. But your narrative is the exact opposite :oldlol:

The last time there was a Democrat controlled house and president at the same time, the deficit was over twice what it is now. Wtf are you talking about? :wtf:

Imagine saying something like this^ despite the fact that simply checking the most recent example proves this completely wrong.

Lowest deficit under George W. Bush: $128 billion
Highest deficit under George W. Bush: $459 billion
Average deficit under George W. Bush: $283 billion

Lowest deficit under Obama: $438 billion
Highest deficit under Obama: $1.4 trillion
Average deficit under Obama: $910 billion

2009 deficit escalation was under Bush's budget and the economic meltdown that took place in 2008 before Obama ever took office. You going to forget that? You credit Trump for 2017 economic gains under Obama's last budget but blame Obama for 2009 deficit under Bush's last budget. How about we consider whose budget plans those were under when they took office?

Obama took office in January 2009, but recession had begun a year earlier. So Obama entered office under a mess when deficits were already spiraling down. After Obama took office, each year the deficits came down except for his final 2 budgets (2016, 2017) when it rose up to $666bn from $438 in 2015. The 2 years of deficit rise were nothing compared to what we are seeing under Trump at the helm. We are already up at $1 trillion with no wars and no recession going.

The Dems took the House 2 years earlier. Bush was a moron but he even he saw the wheels coming off and wanted to put the brakes on the housing market. The Dems kept saying, "Everyone must own a home! Let's prop up Freddie Mac and Fannie May! If we dont take high risk loans, it's racist!!!"

Then a Dem president came in and joined the House, and the sh!t got even worse. :facepalm

The worst combo for the economy you can get is a Dem prez and a Dem house. Look at what the morons in congress are trying to do right now. Wreck the economy with that stupid New Green Deal. :oldlol:
