View Full Version : Stephen A Smith: Jeanie Buss being advised to Trade LeBron

"You've got folks close to Jeanie Buss imploring her to trade LeBron James," said Stephen A. Smith. "He does not have a no-trade clause and now you haven't given him the coach that he wanted.

"And LeBron James has quietly been about the business of trying to get Kawhi Leonard to the Los Angeles Lakers instead of the Los Angeles Clippers. So making a move like this by not bringing in the coach he wants. Not securing the coach that he wants in Los Angeles is his guy. You never know what dominos are going to fall right now. Whether or not it's going to affect free agents coming to L.A. Whether it's going to affect LeBron James staying in L.A.

"We don't know what the hell is going on right now. But I'm telling you, those are the kind of questions and the level of speculation that has been thrown into my ear in the last five minutes."

If the Lakers strike out in free agency then it makes no sense to keep him. Bron wants to compete. Lakers wouldn't be able to. Prob could get a solid young player and some picks for him. Would be good for both parties.

Im so nba'd out

When he is the cancer driving away the free agents, the best thing the lakers could do is trade the cancer.

They have good young talent, could get some good free agents, lose cancer ball and get some good role players.

It's amazing how many people refuse to admit what the actual problem is.

He is the elephant in the room

It makes sence. If u can't get other players to come to LeBron trade him. But it may hurt your franchise doing that but out of all teams the lakers will bounce back

Honestly, my first thought was "What team is going to take a mid 30s LBJ that is obviously going into the twilight of his playing career, comes with a lot of drama, has his eyes clearly set on his off the court business and is making like 40 million a year...".

It's not that LBJ couldn't help a team win in the next couple of years, but I can't imagine there is a lot of teams that will jump at giving up much to take that on.

I really don't see any team giving up young talent/potential for him, it just doesn't make sense for like 90% of the teams. Maybe to the Wiz for Wall... OKC for Russ... LAL are going to have to take on a monster contract of another polarizing "star" if they trade him IMO. Or they could just take the salary dump approach which would devastate his legacy.

If they're smart, they'll trade him. Thus far, the Bus kids have not shown themselves to very smart however.

Instead they'll probably cater to LeGM's wants and destroy their team further. I really hope they don't trade him. :oldlol:
