When Lowry or Danny Green shoots, despite them being good shooters and wide open, you don't feel that the shot is going to go in.

When Kawhi shoot it, you feel it's going to go in, even when it's not going in a lot of times. The same thing happen with Reddick, you just feel he's going to make his shot.

Do people feel like this too? I find it strange.

I do. he takes good shots. Ones he can make.

He is not crazy enough to become really great. On the other hand he is great enough to be very good. Which he is. (You are great... when you shouldn't take the impossible shot os impossible pass or impossible play.... still take it.. .and make it... at least some of the time.)

I feel more security when he shoots than I feel with him staying at my team in the off season

It's the reason why percentages don't mean shit. Dude's taking HIGHLY CONTESTED shots and dropping them.

That's often how it was with Kobe.

No one did it like MJ as far as being seemingly automatic though, Kawhi definitely gives off that MJ vibe when he shoots

its funny how the mid range jumpshot is considered a bad shot. yet all the greats are really good at it and use it a ton

while 3 point bombers flame out the deeper they get into the playoffs

this is why curry needs guys to carry him.. guys like durant/iggy who are mid range players

kawhi = mid range specialist
wade = mid range specialist
dirk = mid range specialist
kobe = mid range specialist
duncan = mid range specialist
jordan = mid range specialist

sorry harden... sorry curry...you didn't revolutionize shit

Everyone wants to forget about mid range till the playoffs when it is important.

Add Garnett, Hakeem, and Wade to this list.

The shit makes you practically unstoppable.

I've been saying this for a while. Other than Giannis, the best two players in this playoffs are KD and kawhi, both of whom have elite mid-range games. This time of year, your legs having gone through the rigors of an NBA season, you need that mid-range component. Get down in the post, come off screens, get a good shot from 15-18 feet, these skills are the last to leave you when the going gets tough in the playoffs.

The next step in Harden's evolution is to develop a post/mid-range game that he can get at least 8-10 points a game. MJ feasted in the post during the 2nd 3peat, Kobe incorporated the post more once he got near 30, KD is slight of build but at 7 feet can simply shoot over any defender, Kawhi works himself into a good mid-range shot almost at will. Dirk became a great post player with that one-legged fallaway, once he couldn't be bullied out on the perimeter by the Stephen Jackson types, the championship came. Harden NEEDS a consistent mid-range game if he wants to get over the hump.

A wide open Danny Green 3 is pretty damn secure too tbh.

Kawhi shots generally look like the correct shot as they're being taken

100%, it reminds me of when Kobe was at his peak back during 1999-2010.

Give Kawhi the ball and move tf away. Same feeling I have with the ball in the hands of KD. Only a hand full of players who literally make you feel safe with the ball in their hands.

There are other guys who are knock down scorers like Steph and Lou Will, boys are straight up walking buckets, elite...but it's different with KD and Kawhi. They are all-time great closers.

I like how you put Kawhi and KD in their own tier and Steph and Lou Will in their own tier. I HIGHLY APPROVE! :applause:

It has a lot to do with the types of shots Curry takes, the quick release no hesitation pull up from half court. Dame Lillard is the same way. It goes in, I get that, but you can't tell me you feel safe with them taking those shots.

But Kawhi and KD are different. They will work that thing until they catch the defender lacking. And even if the defender is on em, as long as they get within range you feel like the shot is going in every time. Durant especially, he rises up and there is not one player in the NBA that can consistently contest that jumper.

Kawhi has proved himself this season big time. I always held him at a high regard, but he's been phenomenal this year. No kidding, he might fkuc around and take the Raptors to the finals ffs!! Major major respect.

Kawhi gives a sense of security in the clutch because he is never/rarely out of control nor takes a bad shot. He's not explosively athletic or fast but his footwork and coordination allows him to get to his spots and get off a clean look most of the time. Always on form and balanced, squared. Even last nights hail-mary he was perfectly squared to the basket so in spite of the 'lucky' bounce, he gave the shot as good a chance as any to go in. Has great control over the ball in the same way MJ did, not the fanciest handles( though his are more modernized that MJs) but his hand size allows him to keep control of the ball better than some guys with technically/aesthetically better handles.

It's the goat effect - that's how people felt about MJ's game.. that's how you feel when the player is moving basically perfect/optimal out there
