He's a great college coach. Made the best of the recruits he got. Obviously we have no idea how that translates to the NBA level.

Larry Drew was doing a fine job developing the young guys and that's what this job is really about.
Only thing I worry about is whether or not the players will respect him. No big egos on this team so i'm not too concerned.
He's 150% a dan gilbert hire so take that for what it's worth.

I have no idea who he is, but I hope he develops Zion well.

I'm reading he's a good offensive coach with tremendous player development, two areas we've been lacking for a long time. I like it.

He's used to coaching younger players. That's mostly what the Cavs have. Don't see why they wouldn't respect him considering none of them have really been coached by very good, to great coach, before.
Will be interesting.

I'm not glad or mad about this. Just kinda meh. Not sure how he'll translate because most of the time college coaches don't translate well to the NBA. Stevens has don't great. Donovan got handed Durant and Westbrook coming into the league so it's not like he couldn't fail miserably.
We'll know who will be taking Zion tomorrow. Draft Lottery is on 5/14. lol Nick Gilbert is going to be there AGAIN.

Bro what is with these 5 year coaching deals? No team should be offering those contracts out unless it's for a proven coach.

Didn't it always used to be 3-4 years??
Also isn't he 65 years old?:lol

Yeah, the age thing gets me. 61 would be a different story, 66 and a 5-year contract and he very well could be done if he makes it through the contract. But if he helps develop, then good signing nonetheless.
