What a disaster... no wonder Demps was fired... sure, it's easy to say in hindsight... but I mean... I was calling it then... there is no way a disgruntled star going into the last year of his deal saying he's only going to sign with two or three teams is ever going to haul a package that big in return. The Lakers were fools for ever offering it.

Ball, Ingram, Kuzma, Zubac, + multiple 1st round picks?

Haha, holy shit... and Demps didn't trade him out of spite. What a pathetic ****ing loser.

I can't imagine the Lakers offer 100% of what they were offering during the season.

If Kyrie doesn't wait around and just says **** it I'm off to New York, that drastically undercuts Boston's stance on a trade... Kyrie seems to genuinely hate all of his teammates except maybe Tatum, so... that basically takes the Pels back to the Lakers.

Cue the music...

"You could not live with your own failure. Where did that lead you? Back to me."

Pelicans burned that bridge with the Lakers.....There is a 0% chance a deal ever gets done with them in the next 10 years

I gotta believe the Lakers aren't incompetent enough to ruin the rest of LeBron's career out of spite for the Pels.

Plus, Griffin is there now, and he's far more level headed than Demps. He will take the best offer for Davis, he's high on Ingram.

There are only two ways this deal doesn't get done now, imo, with less assets headed to the Pelicans than there otherwise would have been.

1) Kyrie proactively goes to Ainge and says get me AD and I'm staying, which seems unlikely.

or

2) New Orleans ownership is spiteful and petty, even after getting Zion. I think the problem was Demps, and not the ownership, but I could be wrong?

Basically... the Pels were never getting an offer as good as what the Lakers offered in February.. and tonight... that deal got even worse. Don't think that #4 pick changes things? Of course it does.

If they made that trade they might not have got the first pick. And I would rather Zion then all those others.

And the pels don't really need them now anyway. Imo. Maybe Lonzo. They only need to fit pieces around zion

They're going to need the Lakers more than ever if Kyrie bolts.

If Kyrie goes to Laker, Laker can send their squad + 1st round picks to NO to get AD.

NO then draft Zion, have a bunch of young talents, use the 1st round pick to get another top star to rebuild.

Lakers now have Kyrie, AD, Lebron.

Maybe it is possible lols.

I personally would rather try to figure out a way to keep Lonzo rather than get Kyrie.

I would trade Ingram, Hart, Wagner, #4 pick and 2 more 1st rounders for AD. I would be willing to add Kuzma. You may need to add a 3rd team in the mix.

That would still leave a max deal open. But now you have Lonzo, LeBron and AD as your core. Only thing missing is a sg and sf/pf (LeBron can play either position). You offer max to Durant, Kawhi and Klay - whoever accepts, you sign. Obviously I would want KD or Kawhi.

They should've found additional teams to take the guys they didn't like for other assets.

Either way, even that Lakers offer at this point gets trumped by what the Knicks *can* offer.

What will Knicks offer that is better than Ingram, Kuzma, Hart, Wagner, #4 and 2 future 1st rounders?

Explained that in the other thread, but for TLDR, DSJr, Knox, Trier, Robinson, #3, the better of Dal/NYK FRPs (or both Dal picks + NYK future).

Apart from the 3rd pick in this draft, what do the Knicks have to offer?

Knox? Ntilikina? DSJ? Mudiay? :lol

Lakers aren't doing shit with Pelinka, dude is hated league wide and i'll bet any money the underwhelming moves they make this summer will support that, following a massive uproar from LA fans. Their vet signings last summer were garbage fit, their Zubac for Muscala fumble was atrocious

There is nothing to support that he Pelinka can get shit done since he's been a GM
