I can see it happening, OKC knows they are not winning anything with this bum, and NO would improve their chances of keeping AD. Bring Klay in FA and you have a big three. Sadly, it will get nowhere as Westbrook is a certified cancer.

They wouldn't trade Zion straight up for Kyrie. Let alone Westbrick

Zion is pretty much untouchable right now. You'd have to have some young superstar like Giannis signed for 5 more years to even consider a trade.

You don't trade away a player like Zion ESPECIALLY if you are a rebuilding team.

Not a single GM in the league would trade Zion for Westbrook

With that contract you would be lucky to get a 2nd round pick for Westbrook.

Zion wouldn't keep AD in New Orleans, Westbrook would.

You know how star names work. and yes Zion is a star name but hes also a project and not a finished product, while Westbrook is desperate for a title right now and so is AD. Makes sense for both organizations tbh. OKC need to move on from Westbrook, and NO need to do everything in their power to keep AD.

So funny to me how people are suddenly woke about Westbrook. I've been saying for years hes a fraud

i mean, you say yourself that he's a fraud, so why would NO or Davis want him?
Davis is gone no matter what, he embarrassed himself out of that franchise.

Westbrook isn't bringing a title and neither is Davis, he's empty stats and made of glass.

I doubt AD thinks Wesbrook is a fraud, they are teammates from team USA and dude is coming off a third triple double season in a row or whatever. These guys don't think in terms of fit or analytics, they mostly think in terms of teaming up with a star. Like Bron predicting he'd win not 5 not 6 when he was in fact 2/4 at Miami because of age/fit issues.

And even if Pels GM thinks Westbrook is a fraud, his priority is to keep AD there and get the cash flowing from having a star studded lineup

Westbrook shouldn't even have positive trade value let alone getting back one of the best prospects of the last 20 years *and* another borderline all-star

Westbrook is quietly one of the worst contracts in the league right now. He's on the wrong side of 30 and already noticeably declining, and has a 4 years left on that crippling super max extension.

I wouldn't take Westbrook on my team for free (unless I could flip him)

Don't want nothing to do with him as a player or his cap hit.

So you would take a guy who is a certain fraud, and on the decline for $40+ million a year vs a guy who might not be a fraud on a rookie deal

OK

First of all, I havent seen any decline in Westbrook. Hes as dumb as always, but as athletic as always too.

Second, he might be a fraud, but once Zion's career is over, Westbrook will be still above him by a hundred spots. guaranteed.

Third, while Westbrook might be a fraud in a relative sense, he is one of the few players likely to make AD reconsider his decision to leave. Zion is not one of those players. And thats what its all about here. I know Westbrook a fraud, you know hes a fraud, and the GM knows hes a fraud too, more likely than not. But big stars tend to overestimate each others abilities, and I'd be willing to bet AD believes he could win a ring with Westbrook, and vice versa. Thats all, jesus, is there really no one here with a normal IQ to understand the concept?

Have you been living in a cave all year? His shooting has fallen off a cliff. His TS of 50% is horrible, the lowest since his second season.

But i can see how a Melo fan wouldn't notice it.
