In this Lebron-centric universe (it is), here’s my take on why Curry’s
Warriors winning this year is the best for Lebron. We know:
1. Healthy Curry’s Warriors vs heavily undermanned Lebron’s Cavs = competitive NBA finals, Warriors win
2. Healthy Curry’s Warriors vs Healthy Lebron’s Cavs = competitive NBA finals, Cavs win
3. Curry + Durant’s Warriors vs any LeBron’s Cavs = Warriors destroy Cavs
4. Curry’s Warriors vs non-Lebron team = ?
If Warriors win this year, it essentially nullifies KD’s rings. They will have proven not once but TWICE that KD means nothing in terms of actually winning vs not. Having KD is like having a Maserati when you have 2 Porsche’s... it’s nice but I’m okay without.
There’s rumblings that KD is now better than LeBron; his 2 rings as Finals MVP now somehow are meaningless? How’s that possible? It somehow is. And warriors winning this year would be the nail on the coffin as far as evidence goes.
Would Curry winning this year place him above Lebron? It’s possible, but unlikely since no one actually believes Curry is better than Lebron. I would say 2015, 2016 finals proved that.
