of how MJ would also struggle to get out of the modern day East. No 30 win playoffs. No cupcake 5 game series. No shortened 3 point line. Absolutely brutal.

The modern league needs VERSATILE players that can do it all, not just dunks.

Look at who ruled the East for 8 years.

MJ would need to polish his:
-shooting (his range is limited)
-passing (iso ball doesnt work in modern era, learn to pass)
-defense (He never had a single championship run with a DRtg under 101)
-succeed in early rounds (1-9 wont get you to the finals)
-PRAY he gets Pippen or else its ova

Im so nba'd out

DeMar Derozan....no hand checking... no awful 80's/90's spacing, where all you have to do is steer people into your big man or contest the heavily contested 20 foot midrange

He cant shoot or defend so MJ would be a liability on both ends

He is a taller Iverson or basically Demar or Carmello like you said

Very true. Midrange just can't win a series on its own anymore. Well said. Kawhi is in desperate need of a Pippen to take the load off.

MJ fans must be in shambles :(

The game has evolved and passed him / them up

No more shortened 3 point line
No more 10 ppg #2 Finals options
No more illegal zone defense

The sport has moved on past guys like Demar/MJ

MJ even said himself that he would struggle in todays league.

Since the baseline is just "making the playoffs" with a brand new team of non-jumpshooting scrubs, he's done better than some.

Except when it mattered - 43% in 91-93' Finals on 3.3 attempts; 35.2% in 85-93' playoffs on 2.2 attempts

And except when he tried - 35% and 38% in the only 2 years he was over 3 attempts in 90/93' (under 1.5 every other yr)

^^^ that's without practicing

-passing (iso ball doesnt work in modern era, learn to pass)

Except MJ could pass - only MJ averaged over 30/5/5 for career in RS, PO, or Finals

And Harden averaged 36 ppg with a tiny slice of the iso game that MJ had, so the iso game is easier than ever (harden didn't have the infinite skill/instinct required to isolate QUICKLY like MJ frequently did upon the catch)

-defense (He never had a single championship run with a DRtg under 101)

Arguably the goat perimeter defender won 6 rings without a 101 DRtg, so I guess 101 or less is bad.. :confusedshrug:

-PRAY he gets Pippen or else its ova

MJ won 6 rings with 1 all-star

Pippen < Wade/Bosh/Kyrie/Love/Mo/Zydrunas

So he'd win 13 rings with 6 all-stars that lebron had

weak responses.

He only shot well when the 3-point line was shortened. When the line went back to it's normal distance weren't his 3point shooting for season 13, 14, and 15 around 25% 18% and 28% :lol #NoThanks

Why did you mention he can pass but mentioned his 30 points :lol terrible deflection, MJ was an average passer at best just like Kawhi. It's nothing to be ashamed of. LeBron is an elite level passer and MJ is just slightly above average.

He literally never had a DRtg championship run under 101. 0 for 6. But I admit it's hard to do as it's only happened literally 4 times in NBA history for a non-center. and it was done TWICE by LeBron James.

This one is so dumb it's not even worth a reply except for...

1-9 without Pippen
6 chips with Pippen

Lebron was 0-8 and then made the playoffs. And then only won after joining forces with someone who won it all as the man. In fact only won after joining guys who won allstar game mvp as the man as well.

Why didnt prime Pip with two all-stars not even make it to the conference finals without MJ? :(

Wait so MJ basically had the luxury of playing with not 1 not 2 but 3 all stars on his team (BJ,Horace,Pippen)

And his second 3 peat teams were even more stacked

Just the pain of 1-9

2004 - missed playoffs

2005 - missed playoffs despite the East all-star center on his team

2006 - 2nd round elimination

2007 - 2-seeded Cavs beat 1-seeded Pistons to make Finals (lebron averaged 21 on 41% outside of game 5; 25 on 45% overall)..... then 22 on 36% in Finals sweep loss

2008 - 26 on 35% in ecsf loss

2009 - loses with 60-win 1 seed

2010 - loses with 60-win 1 seed (record - no one ever lost with 60-win 1 seed for two straight yrs)

Horrible points as usual:

- people who say his range was limited are idiots. To put in perspective in the playoffs mj had the same efficiency from three as LeBron and Larry bird and was more efficient than Kobe Bryant. No he wasn't as efficient as Steph curry or Klay but who the hell is?
-mj was a very good passer but he played in the triangle that focused on movement and passing from big men on the block. Even with that and playing the 2 gaurd position mj still had 6 assists a game in the playoffs. To put that in perspective that's only one less than bird and one and a half less than lebron who basically plays the point gaurd position.
-this guy really brought up drtg. Drtg is a horrible measure of defence. According to drtg JJ Reddick and Ricky Rubio are better defenders than Draymond green and Paul George.
Your last 2 points are just trolling so I won't even bother

You expect Jordan's impact to be Pete Myers? Is this how bad his legacy is tainted?
