View Full Version : Cavs owner Dan Gilbert: "I think Kyrie leaves Boston"

Hey Yo
05-23-2019, 10:55 AM
“I don’t know, but I think Kyrie will leave Boston,” said Gilbert. “We could have ended up with nothing. Looking back after all the moves Koby made, we killed it in that trade.”

https://www.cleveland.com/cavs/2019/05/cleveland-cavaliers-owner-dan-gilbert-talks-coaches-front-office-lebron-james-and-kyrie-irving-terry-pluto.html

Will the league consider that to be tampering by Gilbert??

The dude literally bent over backwards for Bran and got him everything he asked for. There is nothing more the owner could've done.

He didn't know that a player of LeGOAT's caliber needed two other top five players in the league in order to be relevant.

I apologize on behalf of Dan

People act like the cavs didn't try to land lebron another FA. Guess what, nobody wanted to come to cleveland because Lebron refused to commit to the team. Not many teams wanna trade superstars for boobie gibson, sasha pavlovic and the last pick in the first round either.

An owner that spends money with no regard is not a top 3 worst owner of all time.

At least gilbert isn't afraid to open up his pocketbook.

Can you translate this to VORP, Gamescore, or DRtg? That's all us LeFam understand.

Thanks

Commit to the team well how about get good players and he will commit he stayed in Cleveland for 7 years. I should say he rotted in Cleveland for 7 years and the best player Gilbert could acquire was who again?

Mo williams for 2 years :oldlol:
34 year old Antwan Jamison for half a year :oldlol:

He had Shaq coming off an all-star season, Ben Wallace.. Mo was an all-star & they got him. Boozer leaving is not owner's fault because he agreed to staying and went behind their back, he also had Drew Gooden, Larry Hughes and a bunch of other starter-level players during his first stint with the Cavs.

Second stint, they signed JR and TT to bad contracts because Lebron demanded so, they got him Kyle Korver, they traded Wiggins for Love.. Their salary was as high as GS's just a few years ago.

You're really mentioning old ass Shaq and Big Ben. You're really that desperate:oldlol:

Mo Williams was never an all Star and became one the first year he played with LeBron. Wtf are you talking about lmao?

As fun as it is to joke about how the Cavaliers "won" the Kyrie trade because he's gonna leave the Celtics

This is the unequivocal reason why it was an abject failure in hindsight:

This is tricky becuase of the years he over-paid players into the luxary tax to keep a competitive team on the court. And honestly if LeBron and Gilbert didn't put their pride aside, LeBron coming back and winning a ring in Cleveland would've never happened.

Gasol level player?? You mean the dude who you always cite his 0-16 record before coming to LA??

How many playoff games did Ilgauskas win before LeBron got to Cleveland??

You're the one who made the comparison and can't keep your trolling straight.

First you always say that Gasol was shit before he was traded to LA..... then turn around and say Ilgauskas was an All-Star Gasol level player.

They had max offer space before the 06 season and Ray Allen, Michael Redd, and Joe Johnson were free agents but they ended up with the worst of the FA "stars" in Larry Hughes. Bron was still on his rookie deal then and 2 weeks later signed for 5 years.

They just couldnt get one of the real game changers to come.
