Yes, he talks less favorably about Kobe only in comparison to Jordan, because he thinks Jordan is the better player. But other than that his opinions are pretty high about him. He just has Jordan at another level. He's been very consistent about that.

Often time during the Kobe versus Jordan days, with Kobe fans bashing Jordan, he tended to stay away from those for the most part. That's something that stood out about him early on. That despite all the daily Jordan hate by some of Kobe's fans, he always said good things about Kobe, so long as the context wasn't about Kobe being better than Jordan. That stood out because most Jordan fans at the time were completely different, taking pokes at Kobe all the time. He never did that, always had him in his top ten, and believe me, for someone who liked Jordan so much, at the time that really stood out.

I'm just going off by memory, so who knows.

The reason I do this is because very few people really understand why he's goat or how he played - this includes many people who call him goat...
