Walk on Water

The Warriors play a different brand than the others. Virtually all teams shoot lots of 3s. But none of them look natural doing so. Except teams like the Spurs in the past that get shots from ball movement. When you look at the Rockets, they are trying to make more 3s than the Warriors. Harden took more than 1000 3s and had to invent the double step back. It didn’t work.
Look at the Bucks. Their center shoots of 3s to compliment Antekumpo. The Blazers have the poor man splash brothers. You even have big guys like Blake Griffin shooting tons of 3s. Paul George has become a very high volume 3 point shooter. Chris Paul jacks up 3s. Lebron takes 6 a game.
I mean, it looks unnatural for most of them. The game has changed but unfortunately these very teams trying to play the Warriors way have not adopted to this style of play. This year has proved again that only the Warriors can do it. They don’t just force the 3s. The Warriors changed the game, but they never changed. This was always them. The other teams have changed but never were able to survive and catch up.
What does this mean? It means the league failed to challenge the warriors by trying to be them. And as a result these teams look like amateurs and so many fell for the hype. Different story same results. Yes the league changed, but the teams trying to play this way were not able to make it work for them.
