Seriously? 80% of posters here (about 4 total posters with 20 alts each) are trolls.
Nothing on the front page even remotely constitutes basketball discussion. "Rings" "choke" "3/9" "1/9", and "another one" are all I see.

Several of the mods are doing the best they can to get people to engage in proper basketball discussions (kblaze and the celtics mod come to mind), but their threads are immediately and inevitably derailed with the usual garbage.

There are a handful of proper posters on here who stand out like sore thumbs in this cesspool. Pheonix comes to mind. As does clipper revival. And about 3 others. And each of them appears to be getting progressively more jaded with every passing day, as they are subjected to a barrage of "1/9" and "lechoke" posts.

This forum used to be neck and neck with the other forum in 2012. It was so lively that you couldnt keep up when trying to read the game threads during the NBA finals. Since then, that forum has maintained its standards while this one has unfortunately turned into a certified joke. The owner of the site doesn't even care anymore. Trolling is being openly encouraged and proper discussions have been completely weeded out.

Many of the old posters on here have left in droves and the few that remain look on with sadness at what has happened to this forum. I sometimes wonder whether KBlaze and the other mods privately seethe at the fact that they've been tasked with trying to keep things running, and putting forth the effort that they have to encourage discussions, while being handicapped by an owner who couldnt care less what happens to this forum and has given them no room to actually moderate.

I'm not even sure what to call this anymore but it certainly isn't a basketball forum. And all I can say is that its....sad.

In a sense it's less about the actual subject and more about goofing on each other.

Believe it or not, with pointing out the flaws, exaggerated negatives of the players, and counter arguments, you actually get a deeper sense of the situations. One is forced to look at the situation in a deeper way. Even with all the brainless trolling from the guy in the wheelchair.

Thanks for the shout out OP. Admittedly I do get caught up in the shenanigans and post stuff I probably shouldn't or simply not have the discipline to not reply to. Frankly I wish they'd split this board into those who want to actually talk ball without the bullshit, and those who are here to spam and troll the same redundant topics all day. Let the alts have an entire forum to talk to themselves all day.

This place is just to joke around and clown on dudes. Mods have created this environment by allowing one guy on 10 accounts to turn this website into a circus. That wheelchair guy goes by many names, primarily Simon. And yes, Kobe did have a lot of fans similar to him, but I don't remember it being at that level. But again, that's only because of the one guy in the wheelchair.

What's crazy to me is how the same posters come on here and talk about the exact same players and the exact same topics every. single. day.

The Finals start in 3 days, and the front page is filled with threads about the same 3 players. It'd be a very easy fix, just ban the known Simon accounts and the anti LeBron ones. I'm not saying it'd immediately or totally solve the problem, but it's a start, and it's much better than the current status quo of doing nothing.

Because the way the board is right now, no legitimate posters are ever going to sign up. They're gonna see the site filled with troll threads, close the page and never come back.

there are not many wilt threads anymore with lazeruss and some others gone. Everyone used to shit on Wilt all the time when he was around with threads everyday. Some of it was unprompted too however, not just in respone to lazeruss. I think wilt just stopped being considered a GOAT candiate around here(Russell is brought up far more now because 11 rings is an easy lazy argument) so he became irrelevant. No one cares about Kareem even though he's likely the best challenger. Bird is great but ive rarely seen anyone argue him for GOAT so again not worth mentioning.
