It's clear that rate of domination (PER, ws/48, PPG)
and percentage stats (Percentage of 3-pointers that are open (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showpost.php?p=13681661&postcount=41), percentage of team points scored while the player is on the floor (http://insidehoops.com/forum/showpost.php?p=13727346&postcount=7), etc, etc)
^^^ those things measure skill better than career totals, which are skewed by how long someone played

I prefer Lebron. Can you add that as an option in the poll?

I gotta go with Westbrook's triple doubles, Wilt's records and Harden averaging more ppg than Kobe in a season.
Totals all the way.

well, for years Kobe fans were counting totals cause it was the only thing they had and longevity doe
now that LeBron's longevity has shattered Kobe's totals are as irrelevant as averages (which would be the correct OP title)

Depends what you are looking for, rates are good if you want to compare peak dominance, totals are good if you want to compare career achievements.

No one remembers Totals in Basketball. I couldnt tell you exactly how many points MJ scored in his highest season. But every knows he averaged 37 per game at his peak.
Wilt averaged 50.4 in a season, 30.1 for career.
Kyrie averages 27 ppg in Finals
Just easier to remember averages
