in the off season not Kobe. Tatum and Ingraham really struggled this year because they learned a lower IQ form of the game. These guys are not crazy athletic and are not guards to begin with. Paul Pierce's Oldman game has much better fundamentals and movements for success.

Pierce's low post game was absolutely masterful. He had extremely deceptive footwork and speed. Easily the best low post moves of any perimeter player in the last 30 years.

every player gets duped by other professional players. it happens. Cue the Kobe gif where he refuses to pass and spins and airballs :oldlol:

I always thought that Tatum should've worked with Pierce before he 'graduated' to working with Kobe. Pierce would've just taught him effective moves, Kobe only put that mamba mentality shit in his head too soon. I love Kobe, but a 20 year old does not need philosophy lessons from all-time greats quite yet...he just needs to learn a few tricks on how to get better. And I believe Pierce's offer was on the table, too.

I'm gonna have to go watch some old Pierce mixtapes. He was deadly in 05-06.

Pierce was amazing. I'm glad he won a ring.If Lebron had Paul Pierce's scoring skills, he'd easily be the GOAT.

There is no shame in being destroyed by Joe Jesus. He was the best iso baller in the league for a decade.

Christ the dude is scoring like 35 ppg in the finals, has averaged 25+ points for 12 or 13 straight seasons. Probably averages 25+ in the playoffs too.

Sure Pierce has better fundamentals but did he have better 'scoring skills' than Lebron? I doubt it.

Stick to topic, I agree with OP, Pierce's game was straight beautiful, many more youngsters like Tatum should learn from Pierce and not Kobe. Kobe's game does not translate unless your name is 'Kobe Bryant"'

every time kobe trains someone he keeps leaving out the most important fact: sell your soul to the devil or these things don't work

Of course Pierce was more skilled as a scorer, he just didn't have the physical gifts Lebron does.

Kobe was arguably the hardest worker in NBA history so he has a lot to teach these young guys about conditioning and playing defense. I'd rather learn from the guy who was always the first man to arrive in the gym and the last to leave.

The hardest worker does not mean the best teacher. I rather have a trainer that is focused on the player and see how he can develop. I assume most players will try to train other players the same way they themselves played, and that does not work.
