Who would you take in their primes? Would Curry>TMAC in this era but TMAC>Curry 02-07?

Everyone plays better with spacing, less physical defense, and freedom of movement... so Tmac would be better today, as would everyone
For example, 03' Tmac averaged 32 ppg when league DRtg was 103
What would he average against today's record 110 drtg?... Obviously a lot more than he did in 03', so he'd be better than curry
Also, 03' Tmac shot 39% on 6 attempts, so you can increase those numbers for this era

One thing to consider is players play less minutes now and individuals shoot less shots. Are we sure McGrady would be able to shoot 23 times a game this era on a playoff team?
Also, McGrady shot 32.3% from 3 on 5.6 attempts during 2004-2008...so his 03 season is more of an outlier (clear peak season tho)

Harden shot 25 times per game this year; westbrook shot 24 times when he won scoring title in 17'
Also, tmac thought he was a great 3-pt shooter in 2006... He wouldn't think that today, and the extra work/mindset would improve his 3-pointers... he was a decent 3-point shooter WITHOUT being in the 3-pt era where everyone focuses on it and practices it more than anything else - so he'd do even better today.. it's only natural
His threes would also be more open in this era because the spaced-out ball movement and strategy gets players open looks

I do wish he didn't have a string of injuries and took better care of himself. If he did, he'd probably be up there on the Kobe/Lebron/Durant level.

It was a sign of things to come if not for his degenerative back condition, which actually was bothering him even in 2003 but further impacted his play in the subsequent seasons. He wasn't able to get the same lift and his shot became more of a line drive. I mean, in 2005 everyone posted peak numbers: Kobe, Arenas, Dirk, Iverson, Nash. It's not odd that a mid 20's Tmac would get worse without some other catalyst affecting his play? It certainly wasn't the rules. You take 2003 Tmac and put him under the rules of the 2004 perimeter changes??!!

They both won MVP, or pretty close
And Lebron averaged 24 shots when he beat the Warriors in 2016, while Kawhi averaged 24 shots against Philly's 4 perennial all-stars this year - both of these scenarios ended pretty great for them
So volume shooting is alive and well, which means MJ would take high volume efficiency to another level in this era, just like he did in his era

i agree with what someone else said, tmac is close to durant for me. Peak curry is better than both.

So you are saying it got them close but ultimately wasn’t a championship level style of basketball.
Lebron won the ring with it
and kawhi WOULD win the ring if he had a couple superstar teammates like Lebron (he might still win it)
It's actually your Warriors that are playing a stale brand of ball that will get exposed more and more... without durant.. durant gives them the "MJ" that makes them unbeatable
