heck, vanvleet could get the bump on kawhi tonight

not necessarily, but could

i feel like they cut kawhi's to's short by 1

he was getting tons of defensive attention and usually made the right pass even if it didnt lead to an assist. idk man. Gasol's defense was very good tbf, surprised me with his activity on the perimeter and helped prevent curry from even having a better night

oh gasol was def better we not even having that discussion

getting doubled a lot means you cant do much on your own true but it doesnt bump your contribution except for the passes out the double

question is, KL or FVV for tonight? u convinced me for KL

It just opens up the offense for your teammates so shows up in impact stuff. Curry is the number 1 guy for this in the league today. Just because he doesn’t get an assist doesn’t mean a guy getting an open shot isn’t mostly due to him

Siakam is incontestably the Game 1 MVP, so I'll focus more on the series MVP. Accounting for both Game 1 and reasonable expectations moving forward, these are my most plausible candidates.

1. Stephen Curry

The Warriors are still the odds-on favorites for the championship; by virtue, their best player, Stephen Curry, is the likeliest Finals MVP. With thirty-four points in the series-opener, Curry has at least tallied to that stature, even if his team belied their championship favorability so far.

His production will obviously need to translate into wins, but he's played well enough in this loss to keep his case afloat for if

Updated rankings game 2.

1. Curry
2. Kawhi
3/4. Siakam/Klay(not sure honestly but it's a moo point anyway)

Edit: dray deserves consideration. I maybe should've put him in the 3/4 spot. He was lowkey maybe the best player tonight

Curry should be leading this race now, albeit far from an ironclad case.

He's going to need a truly all-time-great game this series to not only clinch his Finals MVP but possibly also just to win this series: with Looney, Klay, and Iguodala all hurt and Durant's condition remaining precarious, who else should fill in that possible void?

It's still possible for Durant to backdoor his way into conversation, too, if the Warriors end up trailing by 1-2 before his reinsertion into the game coincides with a series turnaround.

they are going be more reliant than they want on cousins. Dray will handle the ball a lot obviously but may have to make some 3s just to keep the defense honest. I forgot looney was injured. Kerr may have been forced to go with Cousins/Bogut(which I liked) instead of actualy making an adjustment.

If Steph Curry did not win Finals MVP last year because he had one bad game not sure how you can say Durant can win it missing at least three games even if he comes back and plays well.

Curry would have to like not play the rest of the series for Durant to have a chance and even then I give it to dray.

Curry or Kawhi... anyway it lands, someone loses.

Curry isnt even top 5.

Klay, Dray, and Iggy were the only reasons Warriors have won a game so far.

Curry put up empty stats in games 1 and 3. Was outplayed by Siakam in game 1 and had zero impact game 3.

In order its:

Kawhi
Siakam
Lowry
Draymond
Iggy

Fmvp goes to winning team... so far the Raps are winning. That means the only real candidates are Raps players.

And Steph scoring empty buckets while being a liability in every other aspect of the game is NOT IN ANY WAY comparable to what Lebron did in 2015 with 3 less allstars and 1 less fmvp, so get the **** out of here with that nonsense.

TBQH, should be Durant for his void giving Raptors a chance

Durant injury is Toronto's FMVP

Should get a couple votes atleast

Danny Green took out Klay Thompson in mid air and then shot lights out to help his team go up 2-1

Gonna be interesting to see if Klay can come back healthy enough in game 4

Do you realize Draymond gets to play 4v3 every single offensive possession strictly due to Curry's presence on the floor? :facepalm

80% of what Draymond is allowed to do out there on the offensive end is due to Curry.

This. People acting like Draymond Green is Magic Johnson because he can find an open man on a 4 on 3 set.

Very sweet. It would be hard to discredit the FMVP any more than that.

People literally watch basketball on statsheets and VORP. This era of basketball "fans" is seriously beyond retarded.

That’s pretty generous with you describing wheelchair ridden basement trolls as “people”. But besides that I’m 100% on board. :lol

It's funny as Curry is getting his stats even with all the trap, double and triple team every possession. I wonder how many players on your list will have an impact if they get the same treatment with Curry on the defensive end.

Golden State played Lebron 1 on 1 Remember that.
