2008 ECSF: Holds Paul Pierce to 19 PPG on 40% Shooting.
2010 ECSF: Locks Paul Pierce down to 14 PPG on 35%.
2011 ECF:
Game 4 with LeBron on Rose: Rose went 0-5 with 1 Turnover.
Game 5 with LeBron on Rose: Rose went 1-10 with 2 Turnovers.
In the series Rose shot 6.3% against LeBron.
The Lowest on ANY Player in his CAREER that defended Rose on 5 or more Plays/Possessions.
Via ESPN Stats & Info: "Derrick Rose shot 6.3 percent from the floor in the series when defended by LeBron James."
2012 1st Round:
Locked down Carmelo Anthony to 42% 52-124.
2013 ECF:
Locked down Paul George in the 2013 ECF Game 7, holding him to 7 points on 2-9 shooting.
PG couldn't even get a position let alone score on LeBron. David West couldn't even get the Ball with LeBron defending him.
2013 Finals:
With LeBron on Parker, Parker scored 0 Game 6 Overtime Points on 0-4, and 0 Game 7 2nd Half Points.
Shut down Tony Parker 2 straight games:
Game 6: 6-26 =23%
Game 7: 3-12 =25%
2014 ECSF:
Waning minutes in the close-out Heat are down, LeBron takes turns on Joe Johnson and guards him fiercely, blocks him in an isolation possession then strips him at the buzzer.
Lebron played perfect defense on Joe. Forearm low and other hand high.
2014 Finals:
In Game 5 LeBron held Parker to 1-10 through 3 quarters.
2016 ECF:
Viciously shuts down DeMar DeRozan who shoots below 30% guarded by James.
-2016 Finals:
Curry shot 1/12 (8%) when guarded by LeBron in the 2016 Finals.
And I haven't even written down much since then but he blocked Thomas a shit ton in 2017, just like he did Rondo over the years; and he locked PG down in some key possessions in '17 also.
Probably the thickest playoff lockdown resume.
Can you assemble anything for another player?

Derrick Rose?
lol the Heat were trapping him hard because he was Chicago's entire offense, let's not act like James was picking him up 94 ft and playing man defense.

I'm obviously not just talking about scoring. Rose ran the offense and others played off him.. you take the ball out of his hands and they become really bad on offense. Rose & Noah were the only playmakers on that roster.

Just for shits and giggles who are the greatest players Jordan ever lock down in the playoffs? Dumars? Ehlo? Hawkins? Byron Russell? Byron Scott? Lol. Best player ever is probably Reggie or Drexler and neither come close to the level and and range Lebron had to cover. Not to mention the lack of defensive help. Lol. No Pippen, Rodman, Harper, Armstrong to bail him out.
Remember, Phil had to pull Michael off Magic and stuck Pippen on him because Magic killed him game one. Lol.

I remember Bron locked Rose 1 on 1 on crucial possessions without help.. LeBron was more of a dominant help defender on his prime though.

You might have watched game 5 highlights but Bron wasn't guarding Rose like that for most of the series.

What made Bron a special defender at one point was his positional versatility, team defense, and freak athletic ability to make SICK PLAYS other guys couldn't consistently. AND YES he was a very good at times great man on man defender in general. So the THING WAS u won't really find many guys with his blend of positional versatility, man to man defense, AND his athletic ability. Plus due to the fact he's a great scorer, he was at one point among the best two way players in the world.
If we are talking lockdown defenders on the perimeter in general, Bron wouldn't crack the top 10-15 perimeter players of all time. BUT once again, Bron could do OTHER THINGS defensively many of those guys couldn't do as well. So u have lockdown defenders, positionless defenders, and two way aces. Bron was very good in the first category AND GREAT in the last two categories! There are MORE ELEMENTS to defense than lockdown man to man defense. ALL THE THINGS Bron could do on defense COULD TRUMP the things a Tony Allen could do on defense.
