I'm so burnt out on NBA basketball right now I can't even be interested in the finals. The regular season is just too long that by april I find it hard to find any enthusiasm for what's going on. Yes, the playoffs build a bit of excitement, but that is also so long and drawn out that it becomes a slog itself. The regular season being this long is just pointless, too, with star plays sitting out 10 or so games for "management" anyway. This is especially true when multiple players go out of there way to call the regular season "the preseason". We should be going into game 2 of the NBA finals at the beginning of April not June.

You are probably right but you know they won't do that because of revenues

82 games is and always was ****ing ridiculous and most people dont watch or care about them. But as has been said, they make too much money and all future stats will be skewed (at least the longevity stats) if they reduce the games.

Basically the genie is out of the bottle.
