Have to wonder how the Warriors-Raptors Finals outcome will affect Kevin Durant's future.

If he doesn't play at all, and the Warriors win, would he be more likely to come back, or more likely to leave?

If he doesn't play at all, and the Warriors lose, it shows they "need" him, so does that mean he's more likely to return?

And then the possible outcomes should he actually play...

Etc.

Or he comes back in the middle of the series, leads his team back and 3peats securing his status as top 5 all-time player

then pulls a Jordan and plays softball for 2 years while recovering and gambling like a maniac

Agreed. The narrative is in flux depending on the outcome.

It may affect his options, it will affect how the basketball world sees him; it may even affect the degree to which his future teammates look at him in terms of leadership. If he was the best player on the best team; and made his team considerably better, I see no reason anyone in the league wouldn't defer to him. He will still be a leader; it's just a question of degree.
