MJ was the underdog so who cares.. it's not a blemish.. Otoh,

Has anyone ever lost as the favorite 3 years in a row?

Has anyone ever lost with 60-win, 1 seeds two years in a row??

Has anyone ever broken their own record for margin of loss? Against 2 different teams?

Has anyone ever lost in the championship 4 of 5 years

Has anyone ever had a bigger choke than 2011?

Had anyone ever let their defensive assignment win 4 FMVP's?

Has anyone ever averaged 22 on 36% in the championship as #1 option?

Has anyone ever been swept in the championship 2 times?

Has any all-time great ever missed the playoffs with an all-star center on his team?

Has anyone ever shot 20% on jumpers in 2 different Finals?

Had anyone ever had a 2nd option average 28 ppg for their Finals career?

Has anyone ever reduced 24 and 26 ppg superstars to 15 ppg spot-up shooters?

Has anyone ever teamed up with 2 other top 5 PER's??? And then lost or was the underdog for the next 3 of 4 years?

Has anyone ever teamed up with 2 other stars multiple times to win rings?

Has anyone ever had a teammate save their career with one shot like Ray Allen's did?

Has anyone ever needed to hold the ball longer than anyone in history to achieve 30 ppg in the Finals? (15', 17', 18')

Has anyone ever had an 11-time all-star at 3rd option? Or a guy that was top 4 in PER, VORP, BPM and WS/48?

Has anyone ever had their team get massively out-assisted in 4 straight Finals that they lost (a formula for beating them)?

Has anyone's skillset ever been so restricted to ball-dominance, that there's a constant running narrative that they "need shooters"?

I could go on all night but I better stop

Just imagine if Lebron and the Warriors didnt exist thats basically what the landscape of the league was in the 90s. Demar could have multiple rings right now with a career replication of MJ. The 90s comp was a joke compared to now and demar suffered for it. Ive always said hes MJ reincarnated

All the way. If LeBron wasnt there to stop DeMar who knows how many rings he would have at this point.

Jordan lost three years in a row in the 1st round (1-9)
Then he lost three years in a row to Isiah Thomas Pistons (88, 89, 90)
Then he cried to David Stern and they made the rules easier for the little guy and he magically won in 91 after size years of defeat failing to get out of the 1st or 2nd round

^^^ Another black mark...

His skillset yields weaker, lower ball movement teams that are perennial underdogs in the championship.

Sad

Remember that 2010 Wade was #2 in PER/BPM/VORP/WS - so he was the #2 producer in the league, aka the best help possible, yet Lebron was a perennial loser or underdog with him (lost or was underdog for 3 of 4 years with Wade)

Again, his skillset yields weaker teams.. essentially, he can't play the "shooter" role... Neither could Wade, so they didn't fit with each other, aka they both need shooters but couldn't provide it for each other.. the Spurs capitalized on this by coming off one to help on the other's drives, thus forcing them to pass to each other for spot-ups (play the "shooter" role, aka their weakness).. SB Nation detailed this with endless footage in their legendary article after Game 6 of the 13' Finals

What's disappointing is that you're consistently trying to prove LeBron over MJ with half-baked research and analysis.

Sacramento and Portland lost to the Lakers 3 consecutive seasons between 2000-2002. And I'm not going to bother posting anyone else because this post is another example of it being a "tear-down post" where the objective isn't analysis, rather the objective is to prove fanboyism.

Boston fans must be PISSED. Formed a big three with Pierce, KG, and Allen only to win 1 ring. Then watched LeBron form a big three and whooped them every year until they all scurried to different teams to try and beat LeBron, only to have him whip them one more time for good measure. Then to make it even better, Ray Allen joins LeBron and they bukkake the world with a 2013 chip that rivals any championship run. Amazing life for LeBron. Poor life for Boston kids. Sorry Bostonians. DBugz is visibly hurt.

why would they care, they still got a ring.

the real losers are the morons like warriorfan tpols and stalker who have been telling us that curry would be the best player of the league since 2015.

lebron took the finals MVP in 2016 proving he is the undisputed GOAT of this era. then kd took steph's team 2017 and 2018 borrowed it to take a couple of finals MVPs from curry, and now giannis luka and zion have the league and are about to take the torch when lebron retires soon.

Why do you have to tear down LeBron's finals victories where he completely shined, though? You're minimizing his amazing contributions, including years where set records, such as leading both teams in the essential categories (points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals).

Can't we offer up objective analysis without shredding a player's accomplishments? We should be able to do so and think critically, no?

M
Jordan's best ring is the one where he did something no one else in the modern era did: three-peat for a 2nd time

Not even peak Shaq could do that

Jordan's 2nd best ring is the one where he did something everyone other than peak Shaq failed at: 3-peat once
