Jordan's objectively a better scorer and defensive player than LeBron so they at least win a game or two against the Warriors.

Laughable question.

The gap in talent between the 18' Finals partcipants is similar to the gap between the 89/90 bulls and the Pistons' full starting 5 of all-nba, dpoy, or 3x all-stars

MJ all but beat them.. so it would be similar in the 18' Finals

You forget that MJ single-handedly locked down the Pistons, holding them to 3-5 points below their regular season ORtg - MJ infact never let an opponent go off... I expect the same in the 18' Finals...

Otoh, lebron let the Warriors score way above their normal ortg and let durant go bananas; mj would've Beverlied durant and the series would be tight

This is literally impossible.

They'd breeze through the Eastern Conference and seriously challenge the Warriors. I can see Durant and Curry being intimidated by having to go up against Jordan and not playing up to their standards.

This is literally impossible. Especially for a perimeter player.
I'm speaking figuratively

MJ had little defensive help in 89 and 90

How does Jordan get to the Finals?

He loses to the Pacers in the 1st round

Yeah Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant weren’t known as good defensive players.

3ball is right, I don't think kyrie leaves if MJ is there instead of br0n

you gotta think about cleveland now as a franchise as well, kyrie would still be there if bron hadn't came back to be a cancer

He'll demand more of them. Definitely NBA Finals, considering his GOAT level game in perimeter friendly rules, made more friendly with rules changes before the season started.

Depends on prime Jordan or back 9 jordan.

People seem to forget what Jordan's performances were like 96 on. Even 95 Jordan had a decline similar to 2015 lebron.

Jordan from 91 to 93 is diff from 95 on.

this.

also is Mj playing for Ty "do it yo damnself" Lue? He was MJ's teammate in Washington I doubt he'd respect him at all. There would be no triangle in Cleveland to take the playmaking burden away from Mj.

Is Mj playing year 15? Or is he playing age 33? Makes a difference but not as much a difference as prime Mj would. By that age Mj wasn't a do all guy anymore, so who would do the other things Lebron brought to the table last year.

Mj definitely was capable of hitting the game winners but could he get that offense to overachieve in the way Lebron was able to when he was on the floor? Lots of questions to make any assumption.

MJ would win twice as much as Lebron.
Lebron would lose twice as much as MJ.

Take your pick.

Would this team follow Jordan as a leader? Kyrie couldn't stand letting Lebron have the spotlight. How much more with Jordan's spotlight and nastiness to teammates? Would Love even get a shot? JR would not play a minute. The only players who could help with Jordan are Tristan, Korver, Nance, George Hill, and Hood. Those would be the only players to run a triangle. This team would implode before the playoffs.

MJ achieved much better offenses than lebron (goat team ORtg's) with less offensive help, so your point supports Jordan

If the criteria is overachieving offenses, then mj destroys lebron

in the triangle, with scottie pippen and with phil jackson as coach. Try Ty Lue and 33 year old Mj or 15th season Mj. Take your pick won't really matter much imo.

How good was the triangle in 1994 without MJ?.. it was literally nothing (#14 in the league)

How good was it during the 1st and 2nd three-peat? They had four #1 offenses, including the #2, #6, #8, and #12 offenses of all time (the most top 10 and top 20 offenses ever)

And that was with no 3rd option and an often weak-scoring 2nd option..

Also, there would be no Lue - Blatt had the kind of system that MJ thrived in... Love too... So they would've 3-peated with Blatt

Laughable question.

But how many zero impact defensive rebounds and forced assists by inefficiently driving and kicking every single play did he get?

Exhibit Scottie Pippen.

According to LeBron stans, the greatest player of all time not including LeBron James but no All-Time ranking EVER given.

Scottie Pippen: 5th selection in 1987 draft. Considering that today's athletes are bigger, faster, and stronger this shouldn't mean much.

LeBron James had the advantage of a team with 4 top 5 draft capital when he came back to the Cavs.
