Start with Derek Harper who started ahead of him and whom I was never that impressed with

Derek Harper was pretty good. Really good defender with the handchecking. I dont ask for much more than good man to man D, solid shooting when open, and some steady play. I wouldnt be upset having Harper as my point.

Always thought he was overrated. Didn't really like his game. Ro Blackman was good though. They had some talent for a while there

Yeah, Harper definitely is better... but he's top 200 by most measures, so what is the relevance of the comparison?

200? As I said highly overrated. The relevance is Davis was a decent backup not a top 500 player. Those Mavs teams had many guys better than him

I was living in Southern Cal when Harper was traded to the Clippers. He looked like MJ briefly before he blew out his knee. Liked him better than Ehlo with the Cavs too!
