47 points with a TS of over 63%.
He played 43 minutes running around screens as the focus of the other team's defense. Not surprising that he got tired at the end.

They were not giving him any daylight in the 4th but he did force himself to the line a couple times and got the ball to wide open teammates, who missed 3s.
Curry would have scored 60 if Klay was there to take the heat off him tbh.

So the fact the he has to run around thousands of screens to be effective counts as an Excuse to why he was tired and played bad in the 4th?

What? No he wouldn't have. They scored the same amount of points that they scored the previous two games. If Klay was there it would have been the same score except Klay would of had 20 and curry would have 30. Maybe warriors win because of Klays much needed added defence

He lit up the Raps.
He was also the reason why the raps scored 120 plus points with a hobbled kawhi. Take out steph and put in Klay and the warriors still score 100-105 points but there defence gets much much better.

Lighten up dude talking ish about apposing teams and players is part of the fun with sports. I think most people's problem with Steph isn't even with Steph it's with some of his delusional Stans who claim Steph is the best player in the world or even the best player ever. He's great but he's neither of those things so when an opportunity arises to highlight why he isn't people are gonna take advantage. What your missing about Steph's great offensive performance last night was his terrible defence and his inability to score in the 4th when shit matters most. That's the difference between curry and other greats. They can give you 47 but they can also play elite defence. They can also iso and give you easy points in the 4th when screens and movement isn't as effective.

Exactly - If Curry could do this late in the 4th and get 55, the Warriors win easily

But only MJ could continue dominating all the way through a 45+ game in the Finals. Lebron disappeared in money time of his biggest-scoring Finals game too, just like Curry

Chef scored 47 and they still were trailing big the whole game...
His second option was the equivalent of '88 pippen, a second round airballing face planting dray, a crippled stumbling, bumbling cousins, and a starting shooting guard that has range out to 8 feet.
This is the type of scenario Jordan went 1-9 with.

You call Steph the "chef", but he ain't serving full course meals.. everything but the most important main course..
Can you imagine going to a restaurant and they leave off the main course??.. So they serve you the salad, the appetizers and all the drinks you want... But when it comes time for the main course, they're like, "well, we don't have the capability for that, but we hope people give us a break because our salads and appetizers are goat.. When did MJ have 3 HOF candidate teammates? (Dray, Iggy, Cousins)
MJ would sweep the raptors with that kind of help (3 HOF), since he swept b2b champs with just 1
Ultimately, Curry can't carry a team like Kobe/Mike because
But he can't carry a team for the following reasons:
1) he's too easy-going, so he can't galvanize and elevate teammates to his level of performance like MJ/Kobe
2) Opponents pay no physical toll or pace toll to defend Curry - this makes his big games (like last night) impactless
3) He can't close and isn't clutch (no FG in the last 8 minutes last night)
4) He's exploited routinely on defense

I didn't limit the topic to just the finals and the 47 pts is irrelevant. The point is that other greats can give you alot of offence like curry can but they can also give you alot on defence which curry can't. The fact that curry is terrible defensively takes away from the amount he scores. Great defenders can influence a game by 10-20 points in there favour. Really bad defenders can influence the game in the same amount in the other teams favour. You guys are totally ignoring the huge impact defence plays in a game.

The finals situation and the 47 are not irrelevant though. Chances are the finals feature the best players and the best opposition and the 47 is a simple benchmark in that situation. You can talk about defense all you want but there is no simple reliable metric for it so it is conjecture. Still pointing to something other than vague generalities would be the way to go if you want to bring that up.

3-point attempts (spacing) by teammates:
GSW 19' Finals... 25.3 per game
Bulls 93' Finals..... 6.3 per game
So Curry enjoys spacing (MJ didn't have any) and also hands-off defense and freedom of movement - he plays in the perimeter player era, which boosts his performance enormously versus MJ
Look at any possession from the 93' Finals - multiple defenders are waiting in the paint - now look at today's game - OPEN PAINT FREE-FOR-ALL - jordan's goat athleticism would be godly in today's game

Didn't you notice how much floor spacing there was in the 90's? That was due to Illegal defense (rule-enforced spacing!). The defenders HAD to clear out and guard their man. EVEN if he had no shooting ability. The rules FORCED them to space the floor.
To get that level of spacing today you need 3PT SHOOTERS (shooting encouraged spacing)

Pippen and Rodman are Hall of Famers period. Draymond and Iguodala are currently candidates only and not even very strong ones. You really consider Cousins a Hall of Fame candidate? Then certainly Ron Harper is too.
Therefore to be very accurate Curry currently is playing with zero hall-of-famers at the moment.
1.) I could just as well say Curry inspires teammates to be better.
2.) Tell that to the defenders that chase Curry all over the place during a game.
3.) Rewatch the final minutes of game 6 of the Rockets series again and get back to me.
4.) LeBron and Harden two of the greatest iso scorers of this era ran iso play after iso play on him in playoffs series and ended up losing.

You think all-pro Cousins would be messing around and wetting the bed like that with MJ cracking the whip?
Everyone would be dialed in on both ends under MJ.. But Curry simply doesn't command that kind of focus or following from teammates..

It's Curry's job to elevate Cousins... But today's players are held to a ridiculously lower standard... :facepalm
No one cared that young MJ had a weaker cast than Magic and Bird - he was expected to elevate his cast like they did to be considered on their level.
So let's see if he did that.. the bulls won 47 games and would've missed the 45-win playoff cut without jordan's 33/8/8 in 1989.. That same lottery cast from 89' began a 3-peat in 1991.. Now if the Bulls were 1st round losers in 1989 (as expected) instead of nearly going to the Finals, do you think they would've been winning it all by 91'?
THAT'S how you elevate a team... MJ only had a 1-time all-star teammate when he beat the b2b champs in 1991, but you're making excuses for Curry and HOF candidates against Canadian 1st timers?

Yes they made the conference finals in 90 and were expected to do so lol, don’t just gloss over that. Mj had a weaker cast than magic and bird but his championship teams also never had to face magic/bird in their primes with those rosters besides one year(and those lakers weren’t the same even from just a coaching perspective). Bird and magic had to beat each other and had to beat loaded sixers teams and prime bad boys too while even magic in the weak west faced hakeem/sampson and a Gervin/artis spurs team

so MJ would elevate demarcus to a healthy achilles and a healed quad? :oldlol:
Amongst other talents like walking on water, Michael wouldve laid healing hands on boogie and cured him of his ailments, surely.

Also found this gem.
"They did it by holding the Bulls scoreless for the last 3 minutes 24 seconds, by overcoming an 8-point deficit and by slamming the door on Jordan's comeback from retirement that began amid euphoria in Chicago three months ago.
Nick Anderson forced Jordan into shooting an air ball with the Bulls down by 1 point and 1:04 remaining. Anderson, who grew up in Chicago, also hit the game-winning shot, an 18-footer from the right baseline with 42.8 seconds left to give the Magic a 103-102 lead.
Orlando outscored the Bulls by 14-0 in the final 3 minutes and clamped down on the game's greatest player in the final 30 seconds.
Anderson finished with 18 points and was instrumental in many of the game's final plays. Before forcing Jordan into the air ball, Anderson moved calmly to the right wing on offense and made a radar-true 3-pointer with 2:02 left to cut the Magic's deficit to 102-100.
Scottie Pippen led the Bulls with 26 points, and Jordan finished with 24."
More likely Cousins would KO Jordan.
and then dray would pull a pippen and take his girl

The finals situation and the 47 are not irrelevant though. Chances are the finals feature the best players and the best opposition and the 47 is a simple benchmark in that situation. You can talk about defense all you want but there is no simple reliable metric for it so it is conjecture. Still pointing to something other than vague generalities would be the way to go if you want to bring that up.
Stat need confirmed. Dude just admitted he can't tell someones defensive impact withoit a stat to measure it. Did you ever even play ball. Any baller can tell you how much better one defender is to the next just by watching the game. You don't need stats to know that.

I'm pretty sure you made this up, there's no way the virgin mary of basketball experienced something like this blatant fictional account of his perfection. Shame on you I say, shame on you.

Isiah/Dumars/Rodman were 29/28/27 when MJ beat them in 1991, versus lebron beating garnett/allen/pierce when they were 34/35/32.... and he beat duncan/ginobili/parker when they were 36/35/31
No comparison
But none of that is relevant - the point is that MJ elevated teammates - he elevated a lottery cast in 89' to a championship in 1991.. Cousins would be motivated and crushing it right now for MJ... Ditto DrayPip and Pipgoudala
Heck, Steve Kerr knows - MJ literally talked Kerr into hitting that winner in 1997: "Ok little fella... this is it... Stockton is going to come double me and you'll be wide open.. you're gonna be ready right??".... Kerr: (salutes MJ, hits the shot).... Only the goat forecasts ahead and sees the future like that in the middle of a game .
Rudy gay has forecast the future too so what :lol
