I don't remember who the hell said this I think it was a couple of posters but please elaborate for us on exactly how you accomplish this when creating a top 10 list or even a top 5 list? Better yet, I'll answer for you. Whether you like it or not, you are diminishing a player by putting him further down than a player in front of him. You can try and spin such bullshit however you want and play it off like "no, I'm just appreciating the other guy more" but it's all the same shit. Just stop. No, you can't appreciate greatness of one player without diminishing another since everyone these days is all about ranking the top 10 players in a sport that is a team game to begin with. The moment you rank and compare the one player to the other and say that one guy is better, you've already diminished the other guy by claiming he's not as good. You've already decided that he's not at great as the next guy. Come off the bullshit already. I for one am a proponent of ranking players and calling out who's better than who. That's the very fvcking premise of competitive sports. You strive to be the best. Too many geeks on here thinking the game of basketball is played on paper. It's not.
