Game 5
Neither Byron Scott or James Worthy played due to injuries.
Sure they were down 3-1, but so were the Cavs and they accomplished the GOAT achievement in coming back.

Seems like Jordan was lucky his opponents were dealing with crucial injuries to two key players. The best player in game 5 with Worthy and Scott out was Sam Perkins, a guy who in the previous game 4 went 1-15 and scored 3 points in 43 minutes.

Ironically, still scoring more than Kevin Love in game 5 of the NBA Finals in 2016 who only scored 2 points in 33 minutes. ( yet his team still won )

Discuss. And be honest. Watch your narratives.

Kyrie scored 41 in game 5 to match Lebron's output. He basically scored his normal share AND Love's, so there was no loss of offensive support for Lebron.

Just being honest. No narratives :confusedshrug:

Can anyone name Craig Ehlo's backup?

Iggy and Livingston would be 90's mega star royalty :oldlol:

Bogut would be swimming in Sabonisis' most prized East Euro Czech hookers, begging for halftime creampies. Pulled out the stands, personally hand picked by Scottie

Ron Harper. Neither Iggy or Livingston are scoring more than 10 ppg in that handcheck era. MJ in today's league with no hand checking would be Kawhi just much much better. 50 ppg no question.:applause:

We did it boys!

We won!

just double checked BBref and Bruce Blitz mid 00's blog

How much did the 2nd options in '07, '11, '14 and '15 score?

So you reply to a post talking about Lebron, Kyrie and Love scoring distribution in game 5 of the 2016 finals.............................with a post telling me that Pippen scored 2 more points than Jordan in a finals game. So, Jordan and Pippen were basically equal offensive partners in game 5, just as Kyrie was for Lebron in game 5. What Love didn't score relative to expectations was made up by Kyrie's output.

Now are you going to address what I said in my post, or do you have any more irrelevant retorts to offer the board today?

MJ must have been cunning af to get past the likes of 6'1 Kevin Johnson only o be met at the rim by Tom Chambers

Urban legend says NBA JAM depicts the lost art of hand checking too a T, spamming Baraka chop chop

Other historians like Hardwood Classics show Hornacek lean a polite forearm on his man the post

The thing is, noone could hit a bucket outside 20 ft wide open anyways, so perimeter pressure was non existent until entering painted area. Aka 'packed' Aka 'traffic jam'.

No need to lean a forarm and when 90's touches competition Jazz collectively hit 3's on a 25% clip

Players begged Stern to move the 3 point line to WNBA standards. When rumors floated around MJ was coming back. David made it happen

How much did the 2nd options in '07, '11, '14 and '15 score?

'07 has 3 18+ ppg scorers while LeBron had no one over 12.8, comes out the same thing
2011 = exception proving the rule

'14 and '15 are very much '07-esque, the difference being MJ had that 2nd 20 ppg scorer + elite D that LBJ didnt have in any of those 3 years.

There's no such thing as an asterisk in sports if the result is official. Injuries, refs, and shortened seasons due to lockouts are part of the game.

nahh, ruling errors are definitely an asterisk, as it simply does not represent what happened.

its a false outcome.

most obvious example is a shot within the 24 second clock wrongfully waived off, like, are we just supposed to say happens? no, its obviously false, ergo the asterisk.

Not just down 3-1. LA lost 3 straight (and 2 straight at home) after winning game 1. The series was over.

Not like the Cavs were up 3 - 1 like the Bulls were.. And it was Green's suspension on top of Bogut missing two games(Ezeli Game 7 cost them 6 points thanks to this) and Iggy being hurt in the last two.

Worthy also played on a bad ankle the series prior.

He wasn't "Big Game James" that entire 91 run. Don't know if being healthy would have changed the outcome though. Doubtful really. Chicago was rolling after finally getting thru Detroit.

Would've been interesting to see though. Ditto a series w/ Michael Cooper who retired the year before.
