View Full Version : Let's Talk About: How trash Demarcus Cousins has been

For as worried as we all were last year when he signed for the Warriors, he has added ZERO positive impact to this team save for game 2 of the finals (11pts/10reb/6a on 37% shooting from the field), and even that looks weak. Big cousins been a bully all his NBA life and he thought signing with the Warriors was gonna stick it to everyone else...while all it has actually done is provided him with the worst possible playoffs debut of a multiple all star/all nba player.

Whether he's dealing with injuries or not, the fact that he can actually step in and play in the Finals makes his stats inexcusable. This trash can is averaging 5.8pts/4.7rpg on 30% shooting as a center :oldlol:

Get ****ing wrecked dude. I hope it's impossible for him to find a max contract, that will make sure no one tries this bs again. No reason any NBA team should offer Cousins a contract longer than 3 years with the 3rd year being a team option.

He's been a negative for any team he's been on. What a surprise.

He is absolutely trash. Worst attitude in the league. Will be lucky to get a contract next season.

22/12 player last season off identical injury, GSW ball movement doe. spot up in the corner all game doe

i'm sure he'd love to bounce back and not be a full time screen setter

you can tell most of new GSW guys despise it there, getting thrown under the bus by Draymonds mom and Curry's wife after losses.

toxic and you know damn well noones getting paid

Oh trust, I've been talking against big Cous. Last guy I wanted the Lakers to sign, he's a modern day Shareef Abdur-Raheem + a bad temper. Empty stats, not a playoff player.

I'm not going to say the Warriors would be any better with a full strength DC, but to judge him on stats when he comes back from a long layoff into the intensity of the NBA finals is ludicrous.

He is a guy that gets little to no sympathy because of "who he is", and that's something he's done to himself. He can obviously be an all star level player in the right situation, and he has contained his attitude problems in GS, so we should really give him a chance to prove he can still play before writing him off.

I've never been a fan of his bad shot selection and bad attitude, but he is a solid passing big man that can impose his will on a game when healthy and his head is on straight. The positives make him a desired commodity and in the right situation, could be an all star again, but I think he needs to resign himself to the fact his best ball will likely be played as a 2nd/3rd option and he uses his gravity/passing to create for others.

I predict he either signs on the cheap(mid level) to stay in GS or takes a 1 year 20ish mill offer from another teams, both scenarios should be an attempt to rehab his play-ability in the hopes of signing one more big contract the following year.

I judge him on his career. I wouldn't ever want him on my team for any price. Cancer with a capital C.

He opened game 4 with 3 straight stumbling, bumbling TOs.

Help defense sees his spin move a mile away and strips.

And then the slow footed defense...he killed the team.

I'm not arguing with you, I actually agree that I wouldn't want him on my team at any price either.

However, I'm being realistic, this is the NBA and big skill players always seem to get 2nd, and 3rd chances. Someone will give him a shot, I could see the Lakers or the Knicks giving him the big(~20mil) 1 year deal when they strike out on the big name free agents. Either that or stay in GS on mid level for a year.

someone will pay him. Too much money this summer for someone not to. Lakers or Knicks are certainly the two shitshows that would seem most likely

The other 3 games he has been bad :lol

That's not true at all. That New Orleans combo was amazing to watch and when they finally got going he got hurt.

How can you sit there and lie like that lol, as if Curry didn't have 23 points and 3 steals that game...Cousins also had 3 TO's that game to Curry's 1, come on bro. Outta here

It was anything but amazing lmao, first season missed playoffs, 2nd season they legitimately looked like a better team without him.

He played 17 games in his first season, and when he got traded there the playoffs were already a longshot. You base all your opinions on 17 pretty much meaningless games?

His second season the team struggled, but got on a roll and won like 9 out of their last 11, then he got hurt. And yes, it was great to watch. Two big men throwing lobs to one another from the top of the key or running the break, what's not to like?

During those 9 wins and 3 losses he averaged 22 points on 43% shooting (horrible shooting for a big man), 13 rebounds (nice), and 5.4 turnovers per game...disgusting.

The one game I remember being impressed by him was when he had 40 points, 20 plus rebounds, and 10 assists. That game he was great, but he turns the ball over far too much for a big man/star player, fouls out consistently, and is just bad chemistry for a team.

It's easy for a player to come into a role knowing nothing is expected from him, joining a team that won 3 out of the last 4 titles, and be well behaved. Go look at his other 9 years in the league.

His replacement that year (Emeka ****ing Okafor) had a higher win share than cousins did the first half of the season ffs :oldlol:

You post a highlight video and say "enjoy", how about you post a video of how average the team was with both of them on the floor?

New Orleans Pelicans 2017-2018

With cousins: 27-21 (0.563)
Without Cousins: 21-13 (0.618)

They were legitimately a better team without Cousins. Post another highlight video if you will, but my case is closed.

To be fair to Cousins in NO, Rondo was injured to start the season and they made the trade for Mirotic later in the season, so it wasn't the same team at the start of the year. They were 14 - 6 in their last 20 games with him so I wouldn't say they were better off without him, especially since they lost 5 out of 6 right after he went down. That team with Cousins would have won more than 1 game off a Warriors team that had Curry coming back from injury.

Turnover machine, clueless on offense. Really wants to win when he's on the court, but can't seem to use his mind
