The other guy chose to quit on his team (in his prime) and selfishly walk away not giving 2 fvcks about his teammates. Then the following season, comes back with 17gms left to try to win a title and take all the credit.

No, most would not consider him top 10 with no rings. To be clear, no one gives FULL credit for his rings due to lack of MJ. No matter if he's in my top 10 or not, I have to be honest and note that the rings were obtained with MJ not there.

So that obviously means he gets full credit for them, regardless who was or wasn't playing those years. If people thought they were won cheaply due to no MJ, then he wouldn't be a consensus top 10 player.
