From a new SI interview
"They can trade for him, but it'll be for one year. I mean: If the Celtics traded for Anthony Davis, we would go there and we would abide by our contractual [obligations] and we would go into free agency in 2020. I've stated that to them. But in the event that he decides to walk away and you give away assets? Don't blame Rich Paul."

These terms he is using to describe his client shows that he's basically using these players as puppets to shape the NBA the way he wants to see it. People in and around the NO organization all say that AD changed dramatically once Rich Paul sunk his control into him.
Sad how players who work for him can't think for themselves... the way Rich Paul is controlling things is honestly very bad for the league.

Hes no different than drew rosenhaus was in the NFL. His job is to get you paid and endorsed. He gets more coverage because hes lebrons friend since high school and is part of his bigger plan.
Rob pelinka was savage as an agent too.
Leon Rose
Jeff Schwartz
Paul is still real young in the agent world but he doesnt have the clientele any of those guys had collectively and they are all ***** lol.

Of course Ainge should stay away with them taking this position but they should realize that by eliminating the Celtics so publicly they've hurt their position. NO is demanding a lot, scare off one of the few teams that could possibly make it happen and you are forcing some team (maybe the Knicks?) to trade off so much that the team is even worse than the Pelican team you refuse to stay with. Unless Philly gets involved he'll be seeing the lottery in LA or NY for at least another 2 seasons.

I think most big market teams including Boston and LA will struggle at times.
Players nowadays look at the Lebron Cleveland, Kawhi Toronto way and want to make their own legacy with less traditionally won teams.
AD going to LA is about brand first, winning second. Small market guy.

This is barely scratching the surface of the power David Falk had. It sucks., but this isn't anything new to the league because rich is bron's guy.

You make it sound as if AD has/had no say in the situation. As if the letter was written behind AD's back and does whatever Paul tells him to do.
Paul laying it down as plain as possible... "my client will test the free agent market once his contract expires."
Would it be better to string Boston along, giving them false hope that it's a good possibility that he'd sign with Boston??
LOL @ saying this is a situation that a player isnt thinking for himself. AD the one who signs the contract to make it binding, not Rich Paul.

All those draft picks and cap space. Kyrie gone and there becomes no point to gamble on AD. In the end you ended up with no rings, a declining Hayward on a max deal, Horford, Tatum and some role players. Your only move now is going after Capela? Nets with the brighter future.

Seriously, Rich Paul gets painted as evil even though in the grand theme of things, he's not nearly as powerful as past agents.
If you look at clientele, Pelinka, Faulk, Schwartz... Those guys were powerhouses with super highly paid superstar clients.
Is it because he's black and in a position of power?

Celtics need to retool a little bit and part ways with either Hayward or Brown. Hayward, Brown and Tatum all play the same position basically (SF/SG). All three of those guys are starters and at minimum two of the three are all-star potential. They need a decent PF or a decent PG. If they buy into Rozier it's a risk, but possibly worth it. When they showed commitment to Rozier during Kyrie's injuries he blossomed.

:djparty :hammertime:The team made the second round this year and the conference finals the two years before. Losing Irving would be a setback but he had yet to do anything major for the team in the postseason. If Ainge makes no moves and loses Irving the Celtics will be an older version of the same team that got ro game 7 vs Lebron. With some improvement from Tatum, Brown, and/or Hayward the Celtics wil be one of the East's four best teams.
meanwhile whatever team you're a fan of has fans like you.

I think you have my comments confused. I didn't say it IS tampering, what I meant is that it should be. Maybe "tampering" isn't the right word. I don't like the idea of agents being able to manipulate several teams and setup the league they want to because they represent several athletes. The athletes do in fact work for the league so there is something there.
Well, first of all.. Players technically don't sign a contract with the nba, but the contract is between the player & the organization/owner. The owner is powerless to stop your agent from talking with other organizations. All NBA league can do is punish the player, but you know nbapa would blow a gasket if they started punishing the players for what the external agents say (NBAPA is much more powerful than people realize).
That leads us to second point.. If agents as an external entity are outside of the governing realm of nbapa, nba league and individual organizations, who could possibly regulate them? Unless if it's something unlawful, these agents cannot be touched. Freedom of speech laws protect them.

Agents have to be licensed by the PA I believe but I dont think the NBA can pull it. The union can but not the NBA. Least it used to be that way. Cant say ive read the current CBA.

Not really. Your job as a GM is to make your team better any possible way. He tried to do that by trading Ray Allen multiple times, getting rid of damaged goods IT...and who gives a fukk about crowder...he's a goddamn scrub. I can see the aforementioned players being salty, but Danny was just doing his job to make the Celtics the best they can be.

You watch games streamed by someone who pays for it, you see clips online the nba can track views of, you see articles and box scores that are tracked, call into radio shows and give content to nba partners and so on. There is no way to follow the nba without them benefiting. Shit your presence supports ISH and Jeff covers the nba. Nba tickets were bought on your behalf. Being a fan allows them to profit off you. No way around it.
