Not a big KD guy but you have to give credit. Was a hung move to go out there and he was balling before he went down. :applause:

Damn.

Hopefully he can come back the same player like Dominique did.

I think this injury will do great as far Durant's image is concerned. He may or may not come back as the player he was before this injury but he will be more respected now. Everyone was saying he followed the easy route by joining GSW. This time he chose the tough route.

Agree. Some sympathy and respect for this "snake"

I don't feel bad for him at all. He is a multiple champion. Crazy rich. Will land another huge contract, no matter what. May even win some more as a leader or essential piece. Tried the original, humble way. Turned villain. Now he has a chance for a third chapter. I think it's a great story. (I follow the NBA as a soap opera. Storylines.)

It's a bit like the Kobe rape trial (was or was not rape I don't know) leading to him going berserk in the Finals vs. Detroit and leading to the Kobe-Shaq breakup (or a final nail in its coffin). It was great drama. At first, Shaq came out on top. Then the Lakers-Kobe came out on top. In the end, everyone won. Great stories, sides to choose, winning and losing, perfect television. And after the Kobe-redemption (2 more rings) came his big injury. And that final part of his career... it all added to the story. He became a worse player.... but the story grew.

So far, I like the Durant-story. It's interesting.

KD blew his achilles trying to do an Iverson cross over and drive by the guy. Thats not his game.

He needs to evolve and just do spot up shooting, run through screens, or just a post up turn around J.

No one would be able to stop him with his height.

Basketball Gods ...

LeBron is a coward and tries to get easy rings with team hopping super teams. KD follow suits in cowardice to the former almost back to back champ 73 win Warriors.

Forever limiting LeBron’s shot at easy rings.

KD had what happened to him because of his cowardice and easy route. Warriors win a second ring with Chef Dingo letting it hang over the 6.

Golden State in 7 ... for what Toronto fans did.

All is well and ends well.

I don't wish bad on anyone, even if I don't agree with what they do with their lives (Durant going to Golden State), but what a time to be watching basketball. Witnessing great players like him, LeBron, Curry, Harden, etc. Obviously the league has helped groomed the offensive game with the rule changes.

All-in-all it'll be really interesting to see what he does. Does Durant opt-out and go somewhere else to rehab for 1-2 years getting a super-max even though Bob Myers of Golden State went up on the podium and basically cried for this man after his injury?

Does Golden State change their unusual offer of a super-max that would've given him the ability to opt-out any year he wants?

Does Durant just opt-in and and chill for a year on $31 million and wait for a super-max next year?

What? The ability to put the ball on the floor and blow by his guy is what makes him such a special player at that height along with his otherworldly shooting skill.

Not a fan one bit of his move to GoldenState but it's sad anytime an alltime great goes down. I wish him a full recovery and to be able to continue his greatness.

To all of you talking about Karma, be careful what you ask for. Whether or not it was karma, laughing at his expense will just guarantee someone else will get to laugh at yours. Live better than that.

Perhaps Durant felt extra pressure to return to the Finals because he thinks it might be his last legitimate chance to win a title. He has to be aware that the Knicks have been pretty much garbage for the last 20 years. If he joins them, then even making the playoffs is going to be an uphill battle.

And a corollary question: Lets say that Durants appearance, brief as it was, provides the spark that Golden State was missing. They come back to win the last 2 games and the title. Do you think Durant will feel that it was worth it?

It was a DUMBASS move; finals or not, the dude either ended his career or at the very least altered it.

He'll never be the same.

It really is unfortunate. I never want the league to lose a superstar, even if I hated seeing too many of them on one team.

He was so close to becoming the consensual BITW, and that accession not only went on the backwaters with his initial injury; it probably ended with his reinjury, as his apogee is probably behind him now. He'll (hopefully) play well enough to continue meriting his place in the conversation—his length, height, and skill have always been the mainstays of his playstyle, after all, not his athleticism—but it's unlikely he'll play above the pack to be remembered as better than the second-best player in the world—a runner-uppance he's been locked into for most of his career.

Hopefully this inspires his team further to push a game seven. It's very doubtable that they'd even survive Game 5 without his hot-handed start and the galvanization of his injury; and although it'll still undercut his rings if his team wins the rest of the series without him, I'd find it even more lamentable for his Achilles-rupturing efforts to end up completely resultless.

32 year old Durant should model his game around dirk.

Still a top 5 player minus freak coordination.

Yea, the only issue is that prime to older Dirk feasted off post ups in a way I'm not sure Durant really can unless he gets stronger.

He'll still be great regardless, but if he could add some weight and get stronger, he could really torch teams in the mid post and drilling 3's in transition.
