Also, it's so good when a Boston team loses.

I guess the four-month long championship drought will just have to go on for a bit longer :(
Seriously though, that Blues team reminds me of the '11 Bruins team that won the Cup. Top two forward lines loaded with huge dudes who are strong on the forecheck and finish their checks, big defensive lines that make life hell on you and a non-superstar goalie who got hot at the right time of the year. The Bruins looked old and sloppy out there compared to those Blues players.
Congrats Blues and their fans.

Another crazy stat is they were 3rd last in the league at all star break.
Also they don't have a 20 goal scorer on the team
Congrats to the Blues but more importantly thanks for beating the Bruins

The winner of the entire NHL was decided by a rookie goalkeeper.

Nice run by the Bruins, but honestly, they should have lost in the 1st round to the Leafs, who were better. Tuukka stood on his head. Ultimately though, the team wasn't championship material - they got lucky so many of the top teams got ko'd early.
They had a chance to steal one, but hey, Boston teams cant win everything. :confusedshrug:

Agree however hockey is so unpredictable and really if you make it to the playoffs it could be anyone

That was probably the luckiest run in terms of favorable calls and bounces I've seen. Glad the Lou ended that.
PS the Canucks should have won 2012

Bruins were very fortunate the Lightning got eliminated in the first round. Really cleared the path for a cup finals appearance. Cool to see St Louis finally pull it off. I enjoy seeing first time championship winners.
