View Full Version : Should the Warriors feel obligated to resign Durant and Klay at max?

Lets be honest, KD and Klay won't accept anything less while it would take them maybe two full seasons to fully recover. Even then the chance are decent they won't be a max player or even close to.

Would it be wrong if they just go after healthy(er) FAs like Kawhi or Butler? After all, do they want to waste two years of Curry and Dray's prime? With the load he has to take, Curry himself might suffer a terrible injury. It's just irresponsible.

Be obligated? No. Feel obligated? Maybe. At least to Klay.

Both KD and Klay were just victims of bad luck. It's not the Warriors responsibility they got hurt. But KD was a mercenary. Klay has been a Dub since day 1 and helped them win a title pre-KD. If anything, he "deserves" a max from GSW.

But, it's also a business, so... :confusedshrug:

They should just re-sign ONE. If they re-sign both, their cap is F'd for the next 3 or 4 years and their stars are all gonna be on the wrong side of 30. Not a good mix.

Well they have the money but to waste Curry's prime like that is a crime.
