In the NBA finals. Role player PPG below. All were very efficient shooting as well.

Pascal Siakam 19.8
Kyle Lowry 16.2
Fred Van Vleet 14.0
Marc Gasol 12.0
Serge Ibaka 11.3

The role players for the Raptors all played out of their minds in the finals. They do deserve some credit for playing well.

First team since the 05 Pistons to have 6 players average over 10ppg.

Poor Curry

No Klay to pick up his man on defense :(

Kawhi ball allows his teammates to flourish at their maximum capabilities because he doesn't force every single offensive possession to be initiated off of his low iq passing in order to try to force empty assists. On Bran ball run teams there is never any true player or ball movement and that is because Bran completely ignores coaching and monopolizes the offense.

This board is so obsessed with stars that it's generally forgotten that basketball is a team sport.

That's a product of great teamwork, which every role player needs to play well

Kawhi ball allows teammates to flourish and elevates their game. Meanwhile Curry ball diminishes teammates and reduces them to play finishers, specifically spot up shooters. This allows Curry to collect counting stats while having zero impact on the game. Also, Curry's diminutive size does not inspire teammates but rather deflates their confidence in him as their leader once they've seen him in the shower.

Sometimes role players step up...outside of whatever the "star players" do.

Why don't people accept this? Sometimes role players up their games in the biggest moments. You can't just say, these role players played well solely because of whatever the superstar was doing.

So many of these Raptor role players were simply amazing in ISO situations driving to the basket or draining three and three.
