Honestly why not.

I don't think Duncan's legacy really improved that much by his 2nd banana rings, but hey, Lebron has a right to try to ride the coat tails of a younger star.

Lebron has 2-3 rings, if he gets 2 more, maybe he can sneak up Duncan in the rankings. I don't think he gets two though as he is pretty much done and not even AD can fix his lackadiscal defense.

I honestly dont get him getting up to the Duncan tier.

AD is empty stats, they both basically cant make the playoffs in the west without each other...

Together....1st round exit ceiling

The problem is, Lebron is on that late career Kobe time.

I mean, Kobe is obviously better, but Kobe also stopped playing D at times, leading to underperforming teams and ultimately an achilles injury.

By 1988, Kareem wasnt the same player. In 2006, Shaq wasnt the same player. In 2014, Duncan wasnt the same player. But these rings still count, and will help his legacy, if they end up winning. It isnt as if he is going to be a role player.

Like I said, this is Lebron's last chance at getting up on Duncan.

As far as I'm concerned, Duncan and Kobe have by far the more impressive careers, splitting the 00s and 10s between them with a combined 10 rings(!).

Lebron managed to stack his way to 2 rings in Miami and then lost by the biggest margin ever to Danny Green, old Manu, old frenchie and borderline retired Duncan.

Lebron is quite a bit behind Duncan.

You don't really believe that. If they did, the they'd be ranked higher on the all time list. Lebrin is generally considered a top 3-4 player which is higher than Duncan (7-10) or Kobe (12-14).

:oldlol: at any idiot that describes Duncan's role as second banana.

Yeah, the guy that led the team in every aspect of the game except scoring was the second banana.

Both Duncan and Kobe are around top 6-10.

Lebron is in the top 10-15 range.

Duncan is a system player, so he didn’t have to do much differently between his younger days and older days. He never had to dominate to win a ring like Jordan, Shaq, bron, wade, dirk and Kobe had to. That makes him one of the most overrated ATGs. I think a better comparison for ‘old man rings’ is Kareem or David Robinson. Both guys won rings toward the end of their careers as shells of their former selves, yet were still impactful in getting their last rings.
