View Full Version : Now that the Lakers landed Davis, will LeBron take a backseat?

Zion was going to be the next big thing. AD didn't want to take a back seat on his own team. He wants to be the best player and win championships. Eventually Zion would take that title from him.
By going to the Lakers, Davis immediately becomes their best player both now and for the foreseeable future. Makes sense. Let's hope LeBron doesn't throw the finals again when AD is putting up better stats and defense than him ala 2011 Wade.
Welcome to LA, Anthony Davis. You are now the best player on the Lakers and rightfully so. The only question remains, will LeBron take a back seat as he should at this point in his career so the Lakers can compete? Or will he destroy this team again thinking he's something he's not?

AD+PG in a few years would be a sick combo.

He doesn't have to take a back seat. Davis is a really good off ball player. They will both average 25+ like Bran and Wade did in 2011. Also, weak ass troll job. Can't anyone on this shit hole make a thread without resorting to stupid ass bullshit like "Let's hope LeBron doesn't throw the finals again when AD is putting up better stats and defense than him ala 2011 Wade." Fukking clown.

He doesn't have to now because AD doesn't need the ball like kyrie and Wade did
Kyrie and Wade were redundant with lebron as fellow ball-dominators..
AD is a bird-fed guy, and the perfect match for a ball-dominator
teams will have no way to defend 2 front-court players with unique skillsets like that - one is abnormally ball-dominant, the other is the opposite, a bird-fed player.. so it should fit like a glove and I'm not sure how to defend them - it will look way too easy at times..
people don't realize how uber-talented AD is - it actually makes me realize that whoever the coach was in new Orleans must've sucked majorly to waste a talent like that

Lebron won't take a back seat. He won't take a front seat. He's the jockey.

Lebron will run the offense unless they can land a player that is equal to D-wade style.
Doesn't need to have someone create for him , he creates his own , and can score and play defense.
Bron Wade Raptor = same in LA with Bron AD _______

How do you know how "uber-talented" he is? You haven't watched basketball in 10 years and even if you do catch a game here and there I doubt it was ever the Pelicans. Oh wait, you are only going on about how good he is to somehow discredit LeBron if the Lakers win it all. I suppose we'll have to suffer post like this all season long.

Yup Lebron gonna ride that horse to GOAT status..Lebron fine with being 1A/1B with AD until AD is ready to take Mantle in couple years.

Good point OP.
While Michael Jordan won his 6/6 at 35 years old, I'm not sure if LeBron can do the same. Michael's team was aging, MJ needed to lead.
With a prime 26 year old AD, LeBron needs to take a backseat, buckle up, and embrace the 2nd option role.
However, if he drops to 3rd option level (again), I don't think Lakers win.

This hence the meltdowns, 2 titles for the Lakers regardless of FMVPs will certainly cement him as the GOAT :applause:
