They gave up their best young defender , A 20 pt scorer and dEandre Hunter , a tough Hart ,plus two more first round picks for AD..

Not sure if AD is worth all that.. He was barely making the playoffs when he played with a prime Cousins, Rondo, and all star all defensive Jrue HOliday ..

Bigs are not worth that kind of haul. If they were getting preinjury KD or even Kawhi it would be worth it but not a big in todays CURRENT NBA..

They needed to keep Ball who could have turned into a smaller version of Dray Green.. :facepalm

Bronsexuals: Did you do it?
Le39ron: I did it. We got AD.
Bronsexuals: What did it cost?
Le39ron: Everything.

Yeah if Lebron manages to carry this gutted roster to the playoffs, he's GOAT for sure.

I gotta admit it cost way TOO much imo..

Well Im hoping Kyrie comes to NY..

Kemba is not a player that can play with Bron.. He needs the ball just as much as bron and cant defend anyone..

Reddick would be perfect guy to pair with Lebron..Beverly at PG with AD on back end gives u great frontline and backline D with Lebron roaming playing help D..

I would not touch Reddick cuz he cant defend. A player like Beverly that can defend would add good value. As a matter of fact Beverly would add more value than MOST all stars PG playing along side of AD AND BRON..

The way basketball is a single player can make a huge impact. They gave up a lot, but were they going anywhere next season if they didn't? If everyone stayed healthy they were at best a 2nd round exit and more likely a first round exit. In this sport if you can put two 10 players together you do it regardless of what you have to give up.

I GET it.. But they better not get another all star.. They would be much better getting two or three guys that can play good basketball.. Danny Green is available, Beverly is available, Brogdan is a free agent as well.. Those are the guys they need to go after. None of those guys are all stars but they all can score and defend. Green is up and down but he wont be expensive ..

How about this scenario.. Sign Butler to $28m. Fill up cap to enter luxury tax threshold to activate mle, which is 9mil in 2019-20. Sign Beverley for $6m of the MLE. Use remaining MLE to sign Danny Green or some vet who plays guard. You next still have bi-annual exception, which is $3m so you can still get another player for BAE (use it by splitting it to keep Caruso/Johnathon Williams imo). Then you can go into veterans minimum like Vince Carter..

AD/Williams
LeBron/Wagner
Kuzma/[some vet on minimum like Carter]
Butler/Green/Bonga
Beverley/Caruso

that Lakers young core struggled to beat the hawks, knicks and some other shitty teams and you're talking about giving up too much? :oldlol:

Agreed. Lakers have two top 10 players, Kuzma and cap space to sign another all-star/top 10 player or 2-3 starter-level players.

As long as the FO gets us some 3&D guys we'll be a good Playoff team.

Ingram has blood clots, he might be done like Bosh was done.

I liked Lonzo a lot and felt he got too much hate. He is a great defender and is almost TOO unselfish on the offensive end. He's a great teammate. Though he is just too inconsistent at shooting and his free throw shooting atrocious.

The lakers didn't give up too much at all. Doing the Magic Johnson godfather offer that included Kuzma AND absorbing the solomon hill contract would be too much. They gave up Lonzo, Clotgram, and Hart. A #4 pick that did not interest the Lakers at all to use and some future 1sts.. Sounds like a bargain for a generational talent entering the peak of his career.

Lakers have about 28 mill to fill out remaining roster. This is not enough for another mega star.

Here's how I see it:
1) Offer Brogdon 15 mill
2) Sign Korver for 5 mill
3) Sign Brook Lopez for 5 mill
3) Sign Vince Carter, Caruso, Ellington for vet mins.

Brogdon | Caruso
Korver | Ellington
Kuzma | Carter
James | Wagner
Davis | Lopez

Laker haters gonna hate. First we get ridiculed for drafting guys like ball and Ingram, now we get ridiculed for trading them for a proven superstar. And it’s been mentioned, the real test this offseason for pelinKa is how he is going to fill the rest of the roster. Landing AD was easy. But how about the rest of the team? Will rob redeem himself and get us quality shooters and defenders? Or will he **** up again by signing a motley crew of eccentric vets and ‘playmakers’?

That's not happening. He's easily a 20+ in the current landcape.

You had multiple teams throwing 4 year / $74,832,500 at Allen Crabbe just a few back.

Ingram leaving was hard to swallow I admit. I was in the minority of laker fans who would have rather kept Ingram over kuzma. Ingram’s skills are irreplaceable. He had developed a killer midrange game toward the end of the season, getting to his spots comfortably with ease. Good weapon to have in clutch esp when LeTurnover is chucking 36 footers in crunch time.

Nope.

Winning in the NBA is all about top tier talent. Lakers gave up a few players who might make some all-star games but nothing they gave up has the potential to be a superstar level player.

Youth and potential is severely overrated when you have the opportunity to trade for a superstar. Not so in other situations but if the hold up for getting a superstar on your team is someone like adding Lonzo or adding Ingram then you'd be an absolute damn fool to not do that.

No one wanted to join the Lakers the last few years because they were horseshit with no star power and no real assets. Now they have AD who will be locked up long term and no real bad contracts. Lakers are back
