Certainly not an impossible scenario. As of this morning, the pelicans had AD on the roster, and will be adding Zion in the draft, so they started out the day better than the Lakers, so I see no reason that they shouldn't finish this day better than the Lakers regardless of who is on the roster.

That said, the Lakers just need to make their team significantly better for the upcoming season and I think they made progress toward that goal today.
