I don't think Butler is going to go for LeBron regularly conserving on defense. Plus their play styles aren't remarkably complimentary.

He can make the open 3 and he has a mid-range game, probably clears up much of Lebron's deficiencies on the defensive end.

He's not a good three point shooter. For him to be complimentary to LeBron on the court, he needs to literally do nothing but practice three point shooting literally all year long in his spare time.

He wants to sign because it's the Lakers and because it's LeBron. Maybe Butler falls in line for LeBron but I kinda doubt it. I think the only reason we didn't see him act up more in Philadelphia is because it's a contract year for him and it was somewhere new. He'd have the newness with the Lakers, also, but this would be from the very beginning of the season and he'd already be guaranteed his money.

You can get similar or better production for most of the role he would play with this team for significantly less money.

Middleton is poison. Not as a player. As a contract offer. The Bucks are gonna match anything you offer...but they are gonna make you wait the 10 days they can tie up your cap space with the offer sheet. Teams do that out of spite to make teams with multiple options not even bother out of fear of losing the time to offer other guys deals. 2-3 people will get signed in that 10 days. Thats why a team like the Pacers with no other real targets or prospects will be the ones to max out middleton. Or maybe the Spurs I read. They supposedly want him or Bojan from the Pacers.

The Lakers may not have the time to waste offer sheeting a guy so the Bucks can stall.

That’d be a great fit for perimeter defense and allow Jimmy to do what he actually does best and not be relied upon as a First or Second option. And obviously guard players LeBron wouldn’t make an effort to defend.

I like Kyrie a little better as shooter/scorer but Jimmy is easily better with wing D can guard 1-3 positions at times and would let him be able to do a little of everything 18-20 PPG 5,4 with good D..
