Shouldnt the actual MVP be calculated in similar fashion? Taking into account other factors like wins, strength of team etc.

Arbitrary awards are garbage.

MVP is garbage.

IBM was garbage.

Garbage.

Garbage.

Garbage.

None of it means anything. We do not have the knowledge or means to measure impact to the fullest extent. One day, but not today.

Bill Russell is the GOAT, and you are a garbage ******.

The formula is effectively the share of his team's stats that a player contributes, scaled by the number of wins his team achieves, which is probably a pretty good methodology for assessing the most valuable regular season player.

Barkley owned the award in his early Philly days. DRob owned it in the 90s.
