View Full Version : Why is Horford leaving Boston? Is Kyrie toxic?

I was wondering why he'd want to leave a great org with a great core, great coach, great young talent and a supposed super star?

Kyrie's leaving so it can't be him.

I suspect it's some combination of:

1.) They won't give him the long-term deal he wants AND/OR
2.) He wants to play for a contender and the Celtics look to be stuck behind the Raptors, Bucks, and Sixers for the next few years.

That's fair so then you think he will join one of those three teams then? Otherwise he is still stuck behind them, no?

He could go out West, which seems to be open enough that he could help tip the scales for the team he signs with.

Or maybe it's mostly #1 and he just wants one last huge pay day. I wouldn't begrudge him for that. I would imagine that only a team who was close to competing would throw big money at a 33-year old, but who knows?

I see, is he seeking the max? Or? Will someone max him out anyway?

Rumors are 4 years 100 million.

Celtics were trying to work on something like 3 years 60 million. Probably a player option for the 3rd year.

Because the Celtics aren't going to win the East and he's probably hungry for a title at this stage of his career.

Not sure anyone will be offering up more than Boston for him.

He's actually really solid, a lot of teams would love to have him. Always been a clutch beast.
Who wouldn't want out of Boston, poor brad Stevens can't handle it there too much talent :lol

He does deserve to get paid. Horford is the backbone of Boston.

Underrated? Yes.
