Per Woj. TJ Warren and the #32 pick for cash.
Great pickup for Indy, but they need to find a PG not named Ricky Rubio

Does that means Pacers will not try to resign Bogdanovic and/or Young?
They now just have 31 Mil to Bogdanovic, Young and a PG...

Why even have a team if this is what you are going to do?
My god...

there’s fans on r/suns arguing with me that TJ did nothing to win games for this game. same people salivating over oubre.
let’s ignore TJ shot 42% from 3 averaged 18ppg on 58% TS for oubre who is a garbage low iq player. w ehad TJ locked up for 3 more years @ $12/year. meanwhile we’re going to pay oubre at least $15/m. can’t even shoot :facepalm
It doesn't even matter how good he really is honestly...he's on a far below market value contract that they got ****ing "cash" for...
That is just a joke.
If you are trying to open up cap, why not just move Josh Jackson...someone would take him on for free.

indiana needed scoring, I like it. he's either doing what tyreke couldnt last year as a 6man scorer while the starters sit or just start along bojan at pf who I think they'll try to keep. Not bad if bojan leaves too. Thaddeus is more likely gone.

Getting ready to take on someones massive contract perhaps?
They are about to be 40ish million under the cap and 65-70 under next summer knowing nobody will sign there. They have the room to just absorb someones shit deal for nothing. Should have done this before the Conley trade.

That's a Chris Paul-Sized Cap Relief we're talking about...

Probably the only logical thing, but I'd imagine any team wanting to dump would actually want Warren back though.
That is the perplexing thing. He's on a contract well below market price that has value.
The Rockets, for example, would want him I'd imagine in a Paul trade....even if it was just to flip him. That TJ contract is going to look like a bargain after this summer.
We'll see what happens, but this is odd to me....even more so after that Saric trade.

went from shooting 22% to 42% from the 3pt line in one summer.
became our best 3pt shooter. had him locked for 3 years at $12m/year.
we give him away along with a 2nd round pick for cash.
now we draft a guy 10 spots too soon.
james jones can go suck a big fat d1ck.

I am furious at the Suns right, what the actual F...
Trade our best wing who improves massively every year for nothing and waste the pick on a 23 year old rotation at best player.
If they don't have a massive trade or a handshake free agent deal for an elite PG lined up then they've screwed this offseason massively already...

But even with that handshake deal or whatever...why not dump Josh Jackson now?
You could always move Warren...with ease on that contract if you really had to.
He's a good player on a very good deal. Meanwhile, Josh Jackson isn't good at all.
I just don't get it.

i'm trying to think of a player that was picked really early and worked out. has there ever been such a player? bc everyone projected cam jonshon at 24-30, basically a borderline 2nd rounder and here we go and shock the world by picking him at 11.

Except the Suns are actually trending upward still in the playoff race despite being shorthanded with constant injuries all season, and they just look way better than they ever did with TJ. Having a -1.1 net point differential on the season, even when they lose they're rarely ever getting blown out like they used to all the time. Ton of 1-2 possession losses against tough teams in the west with 3-4 players injured. The future is looking good if we can just stay healthy and not get suspended. But yeah, it turns out defense actually matters, and TJ never gave a shit to play a lick of defense with us.
Glad he's taking his game to another level in Indy, I want to see him succeed. But let's not pretend that that would have 100% for sure happened if we kept him. Sometimes players need a change of scenery, and sometimes teams need a whole new roster/direction. But I'll just never understand the obsession with the trade. As a Suns fan I'm not losing sleep over the trade. Sh*t I was excited because it meant we were getting a PG and retaining Oubre who was an upgrade over TJ in so many aspects especially defense/athleticism/team chemistry. Kelly's energy just gets the team playing better and thinking they can come back to win games, it's contagious. TJ never had an impact on players around him with us.
Besides, coming off an injury, the most we could've got for TJ if we held out was prob a 2nd round pick. Do people really value 2nd rounders that much? I feel like most 2nd rounders are barely an upgrade over signing some guy who's playing good in the G-League. James Jones whole idea behind the offseason was "raising the floor" aka stop having so many project players that aren't serviceable yet. He didn't want to sign more 2nd rounders to take up minutes and prob never amount to anything. A 2nd rounder sure as hell doesn't matter as much as getting Rubio or keeping Oubre did.
Idk, the trade is just meaningless to me. It was a bad trade value-wise but I was fine with it. I was already prepared to dump Warren for nothing if it meant getting a PG and keeping Oubre. People need to accept that TJ really just wasn't that good with us. With his awful defense, he was a net-neutral most nights unless he had a great night offensively. Nobody was giving up a first rounder for him. :confusedshrug:

They should have been on an upward trend a long time ago. Same with the 76ers

Definitely. It's a recipe for disaster having one of the worst owners and front offices in all of sports making terrible decisions hiring and firing a shitty head coach every season, along with having absolutely abysmal luck in the draft... until Booker and finally now Ayton+Johnson+Bridges too.
We still have Sarver unfortunately but he finally promised to stay out of most basketball decisions(who knows if he'll live up to that). And he finally cleaned house of the terrible front office he had which was long overdue. And he got Booker locked up. He signed James Jones as the GM which I surprisingly like so far, not to mention hired Monty Williams as the coach who I already love. So I'll give him a bit of credit there. And he finally got a whole new state of the art team training facility being built(Jared Dudley said on Twitter that ours was known as the worst in the league by far, and that it does have an impact on players decisions on where to sign). Not to mention the much needed arena renovations that they're working on right now. So I'll give Sarver some credit, he's improving and doing some things I like. But I'm not getting my hopes up on him after so many years of torture.
