And the Timberwolves were the next great team?
I'm not sure ISH does, but I remember all the talk about Wiggins freakish athleticism, his amazing upside, how he was a combination of Lebron and Pippen, and how the Wolves with Lavine, Wiggins and KAT were set to be next OKC.

A lot of ISH doesn't remember probably cause it never happened.
Any links to those who were saying Wig was a combo of Pippen and LeBron??

Wiggins is talented, but he's just a dumb guy with no heart. It's a shame.

Wiggins is more of an athlete who plays basketball than a basketball player that is athletic.

Wiggins was a consolation number one. People were saying if Embiid was healthy he'd be first.
he was more hyped out of high school because his backstory was good (foreign, ex-NBA dad).
During the college preseason it was Wiggins vs Jabari vs Julius Randle. Then Embiid came in and turned everything sideways.
It was more a deep draft with either of those four really bolstering teams.
Hindsight 20/20.
Though (brace for hot take), Wiggins will have a better career than Jason Tatum.

Was Jay Williams really that highly thought of? I know he was probably a greater college player than guys like Wade, Wall, Rose, and Irving, but I recall many people viewing him as a high-floor, solid point guard, but not necessarily a likely superstar. I even kind of feel like Blake was more hyped, too.
Am I remembering wrong?

You really have to ask whether ISH would say something like that? I'll find the links if I have time today.

Yep. Health is the *only* reason that Embiid fell. Imagine if he didn't...Move KAT to the "4" and pair his generational scoring ability with Embiid's DPOY caliber defense:eek:

To be fair Wiggins was only touted as a high school phenom. He already had huge question marks during his college season. GMs being dumb is another thing. Jabari Parker was solidly the better prostect after college and would be much better than Wiggins had he not gotten injured.

But why would Lebron/Cavs trade a healthy Embiid for Love? Because Lebron values proven vets more?

Yes, he does. It wouldn't have mattered who was the pick, LeBron wasn't going to wait for an unproven rookie when he had a shot at Love. :confusedshrug:
Regardless, it didn't happen so it's a moot point.

I thought you were referring to ISH remembering "the media" saying that, not actual posters on here saying it.

I remember it being a bit of both. Zion maybe more of a consensus hyped prospect, but Wiggins was getting more love than most coming out of high school and college.

I do remember the buzz on Wiggins when he was coming out of HS but it died down by the time of the draft. Never had the kind of draft buzz like Zion or LeBron did.

The behavior of those cajuns and creoles during that draft was over the top. Getting all excited over a guy who could very well be the next Greg Oden. Calm ya craw daddy/gumbo eating asses down. :lol

Nope. Not even close. Wasn't even the best prospect on his team.
he was super hyped in high school, but it got less and less as we got closer to the draft.

I know his pops, he's from Compton. Aside from his athleticism he wasn't known to be a great player. Sure he had great 'potential' as all great athletes with some skill do. But he was never hyped, never to the same degree Zion has or even other high school players coming into the league.
OP is insane as you just proved.

Nope. You dont either.
Wiggins was hyped but not like Zion. Not even close. Wiggins was pretty widely considered the second best player on his team. A few people might have RJ over Zion but its nothing close to how many had Embiid over Wiggins.

And if Embiid was coming out in this draft? People were comparing Embiid to Hakeem.
