View Full Version : MJ had more DEFENSIVE help than Lebron

Pippen was a better defender than anyone Lebron played with and Rodman was a better rebounder than anyone Lebron played with.
We don't even need to get into the details on this one.

Because they don't always have to follow the actions of their leader. In the case of not playing defense however, they saw lebron's lack of effort and followed what he was doing. :applause:

Imagine thinking that getting bored of a sport and wanting to try something like baseball is the same as quitting. And that's exactly what happened, otherwise MJ wouldn't have went into baseball, he would have just done nothing. :applause:
It wasn't until Hakeem's 2 peat that MJ felt that it was worth coming back to the NBA.

How many times are we going to have the same MJ's teams were more stacked, better defenders, better offensive players, worse competition, LeBron faced epic EC teams on his way to the Finals, GOAT Finals competition etc etc threads?
Here's some advice...let's create original thread subjects instead of the tired "let's throw shade at MJ" agenda to prop up our guy because otherwise he falls way short. :confusedshrug: It's played to death, it's boring and you haven't convinced anyone, it's just a big ol' Branvestite circlejerk time waster, lol

Duh, anyone alive during that time period knew the Bulls weren't an offensive juggernaut. They beat better offensive teams consistently because of their defense, especially the second threepeat team. They won because the played within a system of ball and player movement, elite defense and having the GOAT closer close out games :confusedshrug: 3ball, as much as he is cringey, is 100% right on his assertion that MJ carried the bulk of the offensive load time and again because he wasn't surrounded with elite offensive players, just look at their playoffs points averages for Pippen, Grant, Kukoc, Kerr, Paxson, Armstrong, Longley, Cartwright etc...it's nothing to write home about. They basically provided just enough firepower for MJ to close it out.
This is pretty much well known and has been talked to death already.

You can't be upset Jordan plays better and more consistent defense than LeBron, then use it against Jordan in the player comparison? Lol wtf.
Typical loser Three for Six Mafia excuse.
Lets blame the lack of factual success against the person who actually succeeded and say they faced more obstacles.
:oldlol:
Jordan never faced a team as good as the Warriors or Spurs? Wahhh cry. Well, the Blazers, Suns, Sonics, Jazz would be considered the same way too with you if they beat Michael and his Bulls?
You're holding it AGAINST Jordan because he won? Do you know how idiotic that sounds. It's logical fallacy and text book strawman.
LeBron had more defensive help in Miami btw top to bottom ... Chalmers, Wade, Battier, Birdman, Bosh, Haslem, Joel Anthony are all collectively better defenders than Jordan had in '91 - '93. Besides Pippen and Grant.
Mike had too many slow foot gargantuan goofs, like Bill Cartwright, Will Perdue, Stacey King, Scott Williams, Rodney McRae, and on the perimeter besides Pippen and at times BJ ... guys like old Paxson, Bobby Hansen, Craig Hodges, are you kidding me?
But yes the '96-'98 is arguably the best defense of all time.
Randy Brown
Ron Harper
Michael Jordan
Scottie Pippen
Dennis Rodman
BEASTLY. If only they had a quality GOAT level lengthy stretch four / small five defender who can guard perimeter and paint like: Anthony Davis, or hell even Birdman, Bosh, Tristian Thompson or Haslem.
And he still went 2 for 4.

Jordan has been retired since 2003, not really relevant in a meaningful way since 1998 and because you know LeBron fell well short of the bar, here comes the meltdown and excuse making per your typical Three for Six Mafia members.
Let it go. The ship sailed. Bron doesn't compare. Clearly, the GOAT, MJ is still the bar by which everyone is measured. Past, present, and now future (Zion)

It’s comical when no context is added to “MJ had great defensive help”
1. He molded Pippen. Took what would have been an above ave defender and made him great. (mostly on his own personal time)
2. Took on Rodman who was a headcase at the time that NO TEAM WANTED.
A collaboration of MJ, Pip and Phil kept Rodman in check. It wasn’t just MJ who kept Rodman in check.
Know your facts boys.
Since lebron never did anything close to this with his teammates, the fact that MJ had more defensive help means little since he either molded or went the distance to utilize that help. So what does that leave us with? It leaves us with comparing their offensive help.
Oh wait.
