I said it in another thread, Bird is one of the few all-time greats that doesn't get caught up in the "back in my day" BS. His objectivity is why he had some success as a head coach and GM.

"Larry, could you say a few good words about current era NBA during your speech? I think it would go a long way. As of late there is just way too much talk about how the current rule set sucks and how the NBA of today just isn't as good. While we know this to be the case, this is still a business. Anything you can do to help out Larry and keep interest alive would be appreciated." - Adam Silver

Lol, OP is a confirmed idiot...
No one has ever said there aren't any quality players today, of course there are, every era has had their share of them, today's is no exception...but are we gonna pretend that changing rules doesn't affect the game at all? Is that what low IQs like OP is claiming?
Fact, the rules have been changed to help the offense, no and ifs or buts about it. Current and former players have said this, it is easier to score now then ever and that's what the NBA wants, casuals want to see high scoring games and that's what the rules changes have done...EVERYONE KNOWS THIS, at least I hope so but that seems to have gone over OP's head
Hubie Brown on today's NBA...just one example :pimp:

MJ has nothing but respect for Larry Legend, as do us true hoops fans. No shame in losing against him, unlike losing to Jason Terry :lol

Lebron really should have hit clutch go ahead shots in the finals instead of kyrie and Ray so that he isn

No 1/9 is not good which is the actual reality of Bran's finals record sans THE two greatest shots the history of the sport of basketball has ever seen from his teammates.

Why was MJ a career 1-9 loser before Pippen?

Is 1-9 good
For a young player coming into his own and losing to a very good Bucks team 1-3 as a rookie and then losing 0-3 twice vs the legendary 80s Celtics? I would say it's to be expected. The Bulls weren't seen as a threat to those teams.
OTOH, prime LeBron getting swept twice in the Finals and a gentleman sweep along with losing by historical margins in his prime is worse.
And before you rag on about his stats and claim it wasn't his fault, well MJ put up godly stats vs the Celtics and lost...so it's not his fault either.
Cuts both ways, dummy. :lol

You do realize that MJ's first playoffs series win, he avged almost 40 ppg and Pip wasn't even a starter and avged less than double digit scoring, right? But they won because of Pippen!
Low IQs like you wouldn't understand :lol

bird's just legitimately smarter than most all time greats. He was a pretty great president of operations. Indiana arguably jumped to another level without too much roster change with him replacing larry brown.\
Even decent front office success for me gives the most validity to your opinions even more than coaching. All about big picture player evaluation

The one where he called LBJ this generation's best player? Yeah, we already knew that...but he has called MJ the GOAT. As in greatest of all time, meaning this generation too.
What part of that don't you understand? Do I have to write it down sloooowly :oldlol:
