The decades of "player coaches" in the AAU has ruined the american talent development. This was first seen by the dearth of white talent, but now other talent is also declining. The last talented american player into the league was AD and that's 7 years ago. Embiid does not count, since he didn't play AAU.

America is now just going on "thickness and girth" for their hopes in Zion.

There is not, and hasn't been in years, a true transcendent talent coming out of the AAU system.

Meanwhile, Europe has given the NBA: Jokic, Doncic, KP as supremely skilled basketball players and taken raw, but athletic players like Giannis and Gobert and made them into sound players.

This is yet more proof that ameritrash just isn't getting it done anymore.

Those players are of a different generation. Easy to forget but Lebron and co came up during the late 90s and early 00s. The AAU system was not fully in place back then.

It's the lack of young talent that is very telling.

I also don't write "European", but "European system", this isn't about race, but about developmental systems.

Nah, the US probably has twice as many active players as Europe. If you look at Balkan countries like Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia etc with only a couple of million inhabitants, they are absolutely dominant, and unlike the US they are also good at other sports like football and handball.
