It's amazing how much the body can be put through and still live. I didn't think a person could survive very long without water but apparently it was cold and damp in the bear's den. Obviously he was motionless for a long time as the flesh is literally rotting off his bones.

A MAN resembling a “mummy” has been found alive in a bear’s den a month after the beast attacked him and dragged him to its lair for a future meal.
Named only as Alexander, the victim was severely injured and close to death when hunting dogs found him in Russia’s remote Tuva region.

The emaciated man was rushed to hospital where medics discovered he’d broken his spine after being set upon by the brown bear.

He told doctors that the predator had overpowered him – then tossed him in its den where it kept him for a month.

Alligators and Crocs do similar, their norm is to drown their prey and then stash them somewhere in the lagoon for a future snack

Gnarly little guys

F uck bears.

Too many incidents involving bears attacking humans. This is one animal we need to extinct because it’s found too often at camp sites. It’s one of the few animals that can easily kill a human that humans will actually encounter. Time to end the threat. Bring your guns boys, I’ll be fine with my knife. :pimp:

Nah no way. Humans have encroached and encroached and the bears have less habitat as a result. We need more bears. Less stupid humans.
So much this. Fukc humans. Fukc them with a nuclear dildo.

Bears are good people. :pimp:

I wonder if a lot of animals go through similar fate. Injured, hurt, and alive for weeks before finally dying.

if you let a bear get up in your grill, you're dead.

anytime you carry a weapon, you have to be aware of your surroundings. that pretty much goes with out saying. i wouldn't carry a rifle that big around but a smaller ar 15 could be effective at a distance, at least effective enough to give you time to escape. but that requires you to be aware of your environment.

Wouldn't a double barrell shotgun be more effective? Stopping power for when that death machine gets close enough to try and maul you?

You will never catch me out camping in the woods in bear country, fukk that.

at the effective distance of a shotgun, yeah, it will pack a hell of a lot more punch against a big ass bear. ar15's have small bullets in comparison but you can reach a lot farther and shoot quicker too. 30 bullet magazines are a plus, no guarantee the shotgun will stop the bear so having to reload vs 30 bullet mag can make a difference.

One of the neighbors next to my parent's hunting cabin caught a black bear in his chicken coop. "Pumped a magazine into it" with his AR-15. Thing still managed to lumber off before tumbling down a ridge all the way to the bottom where it died. Made a rug and lots of stew meat out of it. Yes he was poacher of bear, deer and elk. Went to prison for something, his wife left him, lost his property and died in prison from a heart attack. Would make a hell of a country song.

Bear must have thought its prey was dead I guess. If it's dead it shouldn't decay much in the cold. If it's still alive then obviously it will continue to thermoregulate and burn fat stores.

Story seems pretty incredible tbh.

How badass are grizzly bears? They were ****ing so many people up that we basically had to kill all of them
