Dumb move...
Does this mean KD is ditching GS? Saw something last night that GS were going to offer him the max deal...

Not sure but I agree, it's not a smart move with his injury. He should've opted in until he regained his health. Same with Klay. Get better this season, test FA next summer. He still could've had his 5 years Max next summer had he opted in (If his plan is to stay in GS). Seems like he gone.

He's betting there are gonna be some desperate teams (Knicks) that'll offer the max right now even if the chance that he'll never be the same player again is a high probability :facepalm

Not really. Golden State can still sign him to the max in a S/T with Brooklyn or New York.

Of course the Knicks will max him out. They'll just tank another year without even trying.

Can you imagine knowing that you will still get a max deal to sit out a whole year. Crazy!

This is what I'm thinking the plan is. Either the Knicks or Nets will max him out and coast for a year.

HUGE gamble for the team that signs him.
They might get an MVP in his prime, or they might spend $160M+ on a player that is a shadow of his former self.

Contrary to ESPN and other boners in here, Knicks are not interested in an injured KD. They are moving forward with The Process. Let him sign with the Nets or some other team.

Not really. Big names fill seats. Doesn't matter if they are washed up

This was expected all along. Some team will give him the max.
One of those teams are the Knicks. His injury was the only way he was going consider the Knicks anyway. He wasn't going there healthy. The Knicks should be happy I guess

All the fans I know are well pleased that we're moving forward with the youth. It's the only way at this point. KD's age didn't fit the timeline; there was no way they were going to gut this group for AD and Durant. Scott Perry know's what's up.

Hasn't he declined player option like every year?
