The Knicks are weighing the prospect of extending a considerable one-year offer to Warriors free-agent big man DeMarcus Cousins if they miss out on top target Kevin Durant, league sources say

I thought Isiah Thomas was done running the Knicks. This would be a typical Knicks free agent signing. I hope that they do sign Cousins. He's Amare 2.0 with a brain the size of a walnut. He's not Championship material.

A one year deal is fine. They

It's only a one year deal. At least it would offer some excitement.

Gotta spend some cap.... but I don't think his attitude is right for a young squad. Management doing their due diligence looking under the hood. They'll pay Jordan and prolly pick up Rozier or Randle. If they're not picking up Mudiay's contract, that'll tell you they will only spend wisely.

Yep, there is actually a minimum teams HAVE to spend. I don't mind this 1 year signing. He is not someone I want them to build around. KD and Kyrie don't sound sexy anymore. KD will be 32 once he is back, and with the Knicks luck he would be great for half a season like Amare was... and then blow his knee out... because that is how it works with the Knicks unfortunately. And Kyrie is not someone you want on a team with young players, the guy showed his true colors last year, throwing youngins under the bus any chance he had.

They are made for each other. This could be even more of a disaster then Cousins was in GS.

This move doesn't really deserve criticism if they can't attract a star. If they don't care about the money and can't attract an impact star it doesn't hurt to rent Cousins for a year and see if he can further recover.

But it does mean the Knicks will remain irrelevant for the foreseeable future.

It's not that bad. He played good in the finals. Big enough name to be in nyc. They're not going to win anything but at least one recognizable guy will be there . Good enough for those fans.
